Chapter 643 - 643: Molest
He turned toward Han Weilin, his face pale and stricken. "Weilin…" His voice cracked, raw with confusion and fear. "Did I… already break off the engagement?"Han Weilin could only nod, her expression distant yet filled with pain. "You did," she whispered.
At her words, Jiang Wei's shoulders slumped as though the world itself had collapsed upon him. His lips parted, but no sound came out for several seconds.
Then, slowly, he began to sob.
"No… no, that can't be…" His tears fell freely, his voice shaking. "I...Weilin, I swear, I never meant to hurt you. Please, you have to believe me. I love you. I've always loved you."
He crawled toward her on trembling hands and knees, desperation raw in every movement.
"Please, give me a chance. Punish me if you want. I'll do anything...just, don't turn away from me."
But Han Weilin stood still, unmoving. Her heart ached, but her eyes held no forgiveness.
She had cried for months, wondering why the man she trusted had suddenly betrayed her so completely.
Even if she now knew it had been under a spell, the wounds were too deep to simply vanish. Pain doesn't dissolve with reason, it lingers.
Su Jiyai stepped forward then, her calm voice breaking through the tension. "Weilin," she said gently, "don't rush to decide. Forgiveness should never be a reflex or an obligation. Do what your heart truly wants, not what others expect."
Han Weilin turned toward her, eyes glistening. "Then… can you help me know the truth, Jiyai?" she asked quietly. "Can you make him answer honestly?"
Su Jiyai nodded once. "Of course." She met Jiang Wei's trembling gaze.
"You will answer every question truthfully," she commanded softly. "No lies, no hesitation."
Jiang Wei blinked, his pupils dilating slightly as her influence settled over him. His breathing slowed. "I… understand," he murmured.
Han Weilin took a deep breath. Her voice trembled as she began, "Did you ever love me, Jiang Wei?"
"Yes," he replied instantly. There was no pause, no flicker of deceit, just simple, heavy truth.
Her throat tightened. "Then when you proposed our engagement," she continued, "was it because you truly loved me?"
"Yes," he said again.
She swallowed hard, tears glimmering in her eyes.
For a brief second, relief flickered through her expression...but then it hardened again as her next question escaped her lips.
"When you were with me… did you ever have any romantic feelings toward Dong Wuhe?"
Without hesitation, Jiang Wei shook his head. "No."
Han Weilin's chest rose and fell rapidly. She dared to ask again,
"Then when she… tried to get close to you, did you ever try to resist?"
A long silence followed. His lips parted, but no words came out. The air thickened, heavy with something unspeakable. Finally, he spoke, voice barely above a whisper.
"I never agreed to it," he said. "I tried to fight it, but my body wouldn't obey me. Every time she touched me, it felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, forced to watch myself being violated. I was… molested repeatedly, unable to resist or even scream."
Han Weilin's hands clenched into fists. Fury blazed through her tear-filled eyes as she turned toward Dong Wuhe, who stood frozen, blank under Su Jiyai's lingering influence.
"You… monster," she hissed. Her voice trembled with rage and disgust. "You destroyed him just to satisfy your greed?"
Taking a shaky breath, she turned back to Jiang Wei. "And when I found you both on that bed… did you try to resist then?"
Jiang Wei nodded weakly, shame twisting his face.
"I did. I tried to tell you the truth, but I couldn't. Her control was too strong. I remember wanting to scream your name, to explain everything, but I couldn't move, couldn't speak. I could only watch myself hurt you."
Han Weilin's tears finally spilled over. "You still… love me?" she whispered.
"Yes," he said without hesitation, voice breaking. "Always."
Han Weilin closed her eyes, shoulders trembling. The love that once bloomed between them had turned bitter and cruel...poisoned by another's envy.
She sobbed softly, her tears falling soundlessly to the floor.
Su Jiyai remained silent for a long moment, then finally said, "You've heard the truth, Weilin. Now decide for yourself."
Han Weilin wiped her tears and nodded faintly. "I've asked all I needed."
But Su Jiyai shook her head gently. "Not all," she said. "There's still one more question you haven't asked."
Han Weilin looked at her in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Su Jiyai turned to Jiang Wei. "How did you first meet Dong Wuhe?"
Jiang Wei blinked, then began to speak in a monotone voice.
"She came to my home one day, saying she knew Han Weilin well, that she was Weilin's friend, and needed help. She said Weilin had sent her to me. I believed her. We had dinner together, and then… everything started to blur. My mind grew foggy, my body heavy. By the time I realized something was wrong, I couldn't move."
Su Jiyai's brows lifted slightly.
"So you were tricked from the beginning," she murmured. "Then tell me, did you ever try to reach out to Han Weilin after that?"
"Yes," Jiang Wei said. "I sent her a message."
Han Weilin frowned. "You did? But I never received anything."
Su Jiyai's gaze snapped toward Dong Wuhe. "Did you delete it?"
"Yes," Dong Wuhe said mechanically. "I deleted the message."
Both women's eyes darkened. Han Weilin's lips quivered with anger, and Su Jiyai's calm expression turned sharp.
"So even his last attempt to seek help was silenced by you," she said coldly. "Truly despicable."
Su Jiyai took a deep breath.
Then, in a low, commanding tone, she said,
From this moment onward, Dong Wuhe, you will never be able to use your power again. Whenever you try, you'll believe you've lost it."
Dong Wuhe twitched, struggling faintly, but her body obeyed the implanted command.
"I… can't use my power…" she muttered under her breath.
Han Weilin blinked, realizing what Su Jiyai had done. She hadn't stripped Dong Wuhe's ability; she had simply made her believe it was gone, twisting her mind's perception against her own will. A fitting punishment for a manipulator.
Su Jiyai's tone grew colder. "And to atone for your crimes, you will leave the city's safety zone. You'll wander the outskirts, far from anyone you could harm. You will surrender yourself to the authorities and confess everything once the law and order is restored."
Dong Wuhe's expression tightened. Her body trembled, yet she nodded slowly, the commands seeping into her consciousness. "Yes… I'll turn myself in…"
Su Jiyai's eyes narrowed. "Good."
For a moment, silence blanketed the room. Then Su Jiyai exhaled, crossing her arms.
"Why Jiang Wei?" she asked suddenly. "You could have chosen anyone. Why him?"
Dong Wuhe's hollow eyes flickered faintly as she replied,
"He was well-connected. His father had political power. I thought… if I controlled him, I could gain influence, meet powerful people, expand my reach. Once I had enough followers, I would rule this world."
Su Jiyai let out a slow breath and shook her head.
"Such ambition. But what a waste to use it for corruption and deceit. You could have built something meaningful."
Then she snapped her fingers.
Dong Wuhe blinked rapidly, her pupils clearing as consciousness returned. Confusion and dread filled her eyes.
"What… what did you do to me?"
Su Jiyai gave a faint, mirthless smile. "Nothing more than you deserved. You won't be using your powers anymore."
"What?" Dong Wuhe gasped. "No, that's impossible!"
In panic, she turned toward Jiang Wei, reaching out a hand as if to compel him but her fingers froze inches away. Her eyes widened. "No… move! Listen to me!" she shouted desperately.
Jiang Wei didn't move an inch.
She stumbled backward, panic overtaking her. She ran out into the hall, grabbing the first passerby she saw. "Obey me!" she demanded, gripping the man's arm.
But he only gave her a confused, irritated look and shook her off. "Are you insane?" he muttered, walking away.
Dong Wuhe's hand trembled. To her horror, she realized she hadn't even touched him; her fingers had stopped in midair, as if her own mind forbade contact.
"No…" she whispered, her voice cracking. "No, no, no!"
Tears streamed down her face as she ran back to Su Jiyai and Han Weilin, falling to her knees.
"Please! Please give it back! Without my power, I'm nothing! I'll die!"
Su Jiyai's gaze was unyielding. "Then you should have thought of that before you used it to destroy others."
Dong Wuhe sobbed uncontrollably, but both Su Jiyai and Han Weilin ignored her.
Instead, Su Jiyai turned to Jiang Wei and snapped her fingers once more. His dazed eyes cleared completely this time. He blinked, then looked at Han Weilin, tears forming again.
"Weilin… I know I don't deserve forgiveness," he said hoarsely. "But I'm sorry. I'll never forgive myself for what happened. I'll spend the rest of my life making it right if you'll let me."
