Destroying My Own World

Chapter 163 A new recruit.

Chapter 163 A new recruit.

Beldathiel was sleeping in her bed, but was suddenly awoken by something and immediately sat up to look outside the window. She felt an unknown power had just entered her domain, and so she came out to the balcony to check where she felt the power was coming from.

She looked into the distance, but she couldn't feel the power anymore, not even a tiny bit of it. She wondered if she was just imagining things or not because it felt real and yet she didn't find anything. She decided to fly there and went to Niagara Falls, but she didn't find anything. Before she left, she could smell a trace of divine power, and it was nothing like what she had smelled before.

Although she was suspicious, she couldn't do anything because she couldn't smell it anymore. She informed Amaryllis about what she found, and Amaryllis immediately came to check it out herself.

"You're not wrong. This is indeed a divine power, a powerful one as well," Amaryllis said as she stared at the spot where Uriel landed. "Weirdly enough, I can't sense it anywhere. It wouldn't be a surprise if you couldn't track it," Amaryllis added as she looked at Beldathiel in her sleeping dress with bare feet.

"Can I go back to sleep now since you're here?" Beldathiel asked as she yawned.

"Of course. You did a great job to notice it even while you're asleep. I'll handle it from now on," Amaryllis smiled gently at Beldathiel as she nodded her head.

Beldathiel flew away and went back to her room to sleep again.

Amaryllis looked around and stared at the waterfalls in front of her, and she noticed that there was something odd about it. She then flew up high and looked at Niagara Falls from above to observe the surroundings. She found a faint divine power coming from the bottom of the sea, and so she dove down into the water to check it out.

When she reached the bottom, she found a book and took it with her back to the surface. She looked at the book and she didn't understand a single word inside it because it was a language that she had never seen before. The book didn't get wet at all, and it contained a divine power, she then wondered if what Beldathiel felt was the book that she held.

She decided to take the book with her and brought it to the Empyrean World so she could learn about it. After she left, Uriel came out of the bushes and sighed in relief when she was safe and almost got caught by those two.

"I never thought it would be dangerous even for me to go down here," Uriel said to himself. "Thankfully I managed to make them believe it was nothing but that book. It's a shame, but since they won't understand the language, I have no problem with that," Uriel continued as she looked around and left the area.

"Ariel Greens?" Edith asked as she approached Uriel who was sitting on the comfy sofa.

"Yes, that's me," Uriel nodded her head and smiled at Edith. "You're as beautiful as I saw on TV," Uriel said.

Edith didn't expect to get a compliment from a stranger, and she immediately thought that Uriel was one of those guys who believed in the Rebirth Guild. She thanked Uriel and then started to do a simple and short interview since the guild didn't have any requirements and qualifications to work there.

She listened to Uriel's story and she was amazed at what Uriel achieved. She didn't judge Uriel's story, she was in fact listening to it with excitement and praised her for her bravery.

"Alright, Miss Ariel Greens, welcome to the Rebirth Guild. The receptionist will guide you to the fitting room for your attire and she will also tell you everything about the guild," Edith said as she stood up and smiled at Uriel.

"Thank you, Miss Edith," Uriel smiled as she nodded her head with understanding. "Oh, before you go. I have been wondering, if will I be able to meet with Mykel Alester. I'm a fan," Uriel said shyly.

Edith raised her eyebrows and then chuckled, "Unfortunately, he's very busy at the moment. But, once he's back, you can meet him."

Uriel was a bit disappointed, but she hid it with her smile, and then she excused herself to meet with the receptionist. Edith watched her enter the elevator and then went back to inform Lyneth about the new recruit.

"Ariel Greens, a survivor from Los Angeles. That's like on the other side of the country. How was she? Found anything suspicious about her?" Lyneth asked.

"She's lovely," Edith answered. "But she's too lovely and innocent for someone who survived for months on her own," Edith added as she looked at Lyneth with a serious expression.

"I see, keep an eye on her. She said that she wanted to meet with Mykel, right? I guess we can use that opportunity to find out who she is once Mykel is back," Lyneth said as she looked at the photo of Uriel that was taken earlier for her employee card. "Her appearance and the thing that Beldathiel sensed, it wasn't just a coincidence," Lyneth pointed out.
