Chapter 284: The most troubling one.
Chapter 284: The most troubling one.
Mykel was fighting the clones of himself and the fact they could stop his abyss amazed him. They were like ants that kept coming at him, and even though their bites only sting a bit, they were annoying. That was what he felt when he was dealing with his clones, and not to mention they grew stronger because they could adapt to their target.
Another thing that had been bothering him was Amaryllis who could limit his power. Although he had [Singularity] skill that made him unparalleled, Amaryllis made him unable to use his full power. He had been trying to kill her, but she had so many clones that were observing him in the distance and made sure his power got restricted and the homunculi prevented him from targeting her.
As long as he was in the novel world, he couldn’t do much, and if he didn’t kill Amaryllis as soon as possible, it would only put him in a bad spot. He felt like he was being cornered, and knowing the situation he was in, he didn’t have a choice but to devour the homunculi around him.
He knew that Mykel wanted to make a strong team that could help him, but he never thought those allies were a pain to deal with. He had to admit that he struggled more than he was fighting The Lord, and he would prefer to fight millions of The Lord than fight Mykel’s team.
After he devoured all the homunculi he felt like saliva was stuck in his throat and chest. He couldn’t devour them completely and the homunculi had become parasites inside his body. But he had no choice, and he could deal with them later since his main target was Amaryllis.
"Do you still have more of them?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised and stared at Amaryllis.
Amaryllis opened hundreds of portals and brought a hundred times more homunculi to her side. They were all as powerful as the previous ones, and Mykel didn’t hesitate to devour all of them in an instant. But that didn’t stop Amaryllis from bringing more of them as if they were created with only her thoughts alone.
Mykel had enough of it and sent his abyss into the portals around him and decided to devour anything behind those portals. When he devoured all of them, he felt like his inside became sticky, like tar inside his lungs.
"I can satisfy you for as long as you want, but in the end, there’s no power that’s truly omnipotent," Amaryllis said as she looked at Mykel. "You can leave me alone, or you can stay and enjoy the feast I have prepared," she continued.
"You can’t find him," Mykel said as he kept devouring the homunculi behind the portals with his power. "Even if they found him, they can’t escape," he continued.
Amaryllis kept her poker face and she had no idea what Mykel was talking about. But she never thought he would tell her something important, and it was exactly what Elena planned. To pretend to know when they didn’t know anything until Mykel would mention something that could help them.
(At the same time inside Mykel’s body)
Elena was unconscious the moment she got devoured, but thankfully the remaining life energy that she had had been protecting her. The moment she entered Mykel’s body, the energy that she had released immediately went into her body like a magnet, trying to save her at all costs. Unfortunately, the others were gone since her life energy only prioritized her.
She slowly regained her consciousness, and she faintly heard the sound of horns in the distance and the sound of cars passing by. She could also hear a faint voice next to her, but since her body had been corrupted, she couldn’t move a muscle as she tried to fix her own body with her life energy.
She fell asleep again because she was exhausted and drained after she managed to get rid of the darkness inside her body. It felt like a second when she suddenly awoke and felt a warm hand touching her forehead. When she opened her eyes, she was shocked when she saw Mykel. She jolted from the bed and it startled Mykel and almost made him fall to the ground.
She noticed the Mykel she was staring at wasn’t the same Mykel because he looked rather, nerdy and skinny. The fact that he was scared of her and looked how timid he was, convinced her that he was a different Mykel, but she wondered where she was until she turned around and looked at the woman who had put her hand on Elena’s forehead earlier.
"Sasha?" Elena asked with her eyebrows furrowed and in disbelief. "Where am I?" she added as she held her chest because she almost got a heart attack when she saw Mykel.
"Can you leave us alone for a moment, Mykel? This is a girl’s talk," Sasha smiled gently at Mykel.
Mykel nodded his head and hurriedly left the room to let those two talk.
"You’re inside Mykel’s world, and I don’t know how you get in here, but I found you lying on the ground outside our apartment," Sasha answered. "What happened? How did you get in here?" she asked.
"It’s a long story," Elena answered as she exhaled deeply and rubbed her face.
"Well, I have all day and I’m all ears," Sasha smiled gently at her.@@@@
