Chapter 315 What to expect.
Chapter 315 What to expect.
Everyone drank health potions to get back on their own feet and then regrouped to where Zachary and Javelin were. They looked at the smoke that covered the sky disappear, and they were petrified when they saw the appearance of Sinestra, the Black Cloth.
The cloth that was enough to cover a few mountains, a vast cloth that could cover the entire sky. A woman was floating in the sky with her massive two black horns in a black spandex suit that covered her body. Her long and sharp nails shone when they reflected the moonlight, and her red eyes were like blood moons.
Devlin and Aleric got chills down their spines because it reminded them of when they saw Alion. They could tell Sinestra was as strong as Alion, and it would be impossible for them to defeat her.
"This is the choice we made," Zachary said as he stared at Sinestra. "We decided to face her, and now we have to take responsibility for what we did," he added.
Deep down some of them wanted to utter their opinion that it was Javelin who pissed Sinestra off. But they didn't dare to say it because they were indeed the ones who chose to fight.
"Even if you want to leave, it's already too late. We have no choice but to fight because this is who we are. We are Gifted, our whole life is always on the edge, in between life and death situations. So if you want to live..." Zachary paused as he readied his stance. "Fight with all your might as your life depends on it," he continued.
All of them nodded their heads nervously, but their eyes were determined to fight. They readied their weapons and prepared for whatever might come to them.
When they thought Sinestra would attack them, she suddenly descended so quickly that their eyes couldn't see her movement at all. The massive black cloth that covered the mountains and sky suddenly disappeared with her.
"M'yul daanara ireth vur tol'shaen, iri vel'nyara ilvyrin," A woman's voice echoed throughout the sky.
When they looked around, suddenly a black cloth wrapped around them and imprisoned them inside a dome made of cloth. When they were about to attack the cloth and tear it apart, the cloth released spikes and killed those who were too close to it. The others decided to not do that and stayed together as they kept an eye out on their surroundings.
"Daanara ekarai sha'ekar. M'Yul na'el shae irth dan'elthor Yul," The woman's voice sounded confused. "Rylkara iri na'el vel'elthor?" she asked.
They had no idea what the woman was talking about, but they were sure she was uncertain about something. It was a good thing that the woman was didn't kill them immediately, but it only made them anxious because they had no idea when the woman would kill them.
After she questioned something, she didn't say anything afterward and it was just silence. Suddenly a woman appeared right in front of Zachary, she was Sinestra, and in that instance, he swung his sword at her. The woman grabbed the sword with her left hand and she was staring at him with her head tilted.
"You're not him," Sinestra said and she looked disinterested.
Melissa was surprised that Elestria would go that far for her, but she didn't know the truth when Tristan informed Elestria that Sinestra wanted to meet the person who killed Alion. The fact that the Zero Tier had lost a few of their members, Elestria had no choice but to send Mykel. Of course, she didn't want to at first, but Mykel convinced her that he could kill Sinestra.
Mykel came to Verdentia on his own and went straight to where the rift was. He had to wear a cloak and a masquerade mask that covered his whole face to hide his identity as Elestria ordered. Everyone who was near the rift was curious who he was and they couldn't see anything but the white masquerade mask.
"Hey! Who are you?! You're not allowed to get in there!" Javelin said as she blocked Mykel's path.
Mykel stared down at Javelin's face which was around his neck, and the moment she could see his bright yellow eyes, it was enough to petrify her. She was trembling in fear and then Mykel walked past her and entered the rift.
Mykel removed the mask and the cloak the moment he was far enough from the rift. He could see the cloth floating in the sky and how it whipped the ground over and over so that it sounded like a raging thunder. He knew that Sapphira was going to kill Zachary and he didn't know how long Zachary would be able to survive that.
When Mykel arrived, Zachary was leaning on his sword that he stabbed on the ground. He was barely conscious and used the sword to support his body as he was on his knees, trying to stand up.
"Lift your left hand if you're still alive," Mykel said as he walked toward Zachary.
Zachary didn't have the strength to turn his head around, so he lifted his left hand a bit to tell Mykel that he was still alive. He was glad to hear Mykel's voice and he had fulfilled his job of holding Sinestra off. He then collapsed, but he was still awake because he wanted to see the fight between Mykel and Sinestra.
"There you are..." Sinestra said as she landed and stared at Mykel. "The man who killed my sister..." she added and held her anger in her voice.
Mykel lit his right hand with the [Sacrilege Flame] and the moment he clenched his right fist, the flame dispersed and burned Sinestra's cloth. The heat was enough to melt her skin and it didn't take five seconds until she completely turned into ashes, leaving only her essence.
"Who... are you..." Zachary asked and his eyes were so heavy that he couldn't resist falling asleep. But before he lost consciousness, he saw Mykel go down to his knee and grab an orb from the ashes.
"That's two, eleven to go," Mykel said as he put the orb in his pocket and then looked at Zachary who was unconscious.
"I was so sure that they're stronger than who they were, but why is it that you can kill them so easily..." Aevia was in disbelief and once again disappointed with the outcome.
"I know them more than anyone else. What do you expect?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised.
