Destroying My Own World

Chapter 326 A close call.

Chapter 326 A close call.

They enjoyed the tea and the snack in silence as they looked at the bright moonlight. The silence had never been awkward between those two because they had been alone many times.

"What you said this morning, it occupied my mind, and couldn't stop thinking about it," Elysande said as she put the cup of tea on the table. "I don't think I can feel fulfilled if I don't have the ability to bear a child. I know that there are people who will love me with all their hearts, but that won't be enough," she pointed out.

Mykel stared Elysande in the eye and his stoic expression made it hard for her to tell what he was thinking.

"You said that you can make it possible..." Elysande said quietly because she was too embarrassed to say it.

"My Lady. I can help you, but I don't want to do it," Mykel answered without hesitation.

Elysande was shocked and in disbelief, as she stared back at Mykel.

"Your purity is something that you should give to the person you love. Please be patient because I believe there will be someone who can help you with that without having me do it with you," Mykel explained.

"What's love? From generation to generation, everything is always about profit and advantage, and that includes marriage. Political marriage and it will keep going until the Faelethria Kingdom no longer exists, but this time, this is the only opportunity that I have to be free from it," Elysande said as she kept staring at Mykel.

"I might not know what love is, but seeing you taking care of Jessie and Henry, made me realize," Elysande paused to get up from her seat. "Your love for them is something that I have never seen. I want to see myself playing with my own flesh and blood just like you did. I have passed the age of marriage. The longer I wait, the lesser chance of me being able to bear a child even if you fix the problem," she explained as she walked toward Mykel and looked at his hand on the table.

Mykel looked up at Elysande who was nervous and hesitated to grab his hand. He then stood up and wrapped his left hand around Elysande's waist as he slowly pushed her onto the wall. The moment she was pushed to the wall, he used his right hand to stroke her hair and caress her left cheek.

"I'm sorry for my rudeness, My Lady, but I have been wanting to touch and caress your beautiful face," Mykel said as he gently rubbed Elysande's cheek. "Your soft lips..." he paused and used his thumb to play with Elysande's red lips. "Your beautiful and long neck..." he slowly leaned forward and started kissing Elysande's neck.

Elysande was dumbfounded, ticklish, ecstatic, and felt like her body was electrocuted the moment Mykel kissed her neck. She didn't know what to do but to cover her mouth because she didn't want to make any noise.

Mykel noticed that Elysande covered her mouth and so he grabbed both of her hands with his right hand. He lifted and pushed her hands above her head and against the wall as he kept kissing her neck. The moment he started to kiss and suck on her neck, that was when she let out a moan.

"Mykel..." Elysande panicked that she had moaned earlier, but she was enjoying it. "Please, I'm not ready for this yet..." she added but she didn't stop him or push him away from her.

Mykel stopped kissing Elysande's neck and then he leaned his face close enough to her face. They both breathed heavily and could smell each other's scent, and the smell of the tea they drank earlier.

"May I kiss you before I leave?" Mykel asked.

"It's getting late. Let's sleep together tonight in my room. This room isn't safe for you to sleep in, and we can talk in my room," Elestria suggested.

The morning came and Mykel was awoken by Henry and Jessie who slept on top of him. He was stuck in there for a few minutes until he had to put them on the bed carefully.

When he was about to wash his face, a maid told him that Elestria summoned her into the throne room. He immediately went to the throne room after he washed his face.

"The twenty-first rift has appeared near the border of Verdentia. I want you to go there and clear it today," Elestria informed as she read a document. "There will be a lot of eyes, so you have to do it carefully and don't let those eyes focus on you," she warned and stared at Mykel.

"I'll get the team, and I might bring Zachary and Javelin," Mykel said as he nodded his head. "May I visit the Verdentia Republic? I want to bring Jessie and Henry to see their friends. A few hours is enough," he requested.

"You can stay there for three days and ask Melissa about the plan and its progress," Elestria nodded her head with understanding. "You're dismissed," she continued.

Mykel gathered his team, and they were all living the dream, even Sabel had modified his body even further. He hadn't seen them for a few weeks, but they all looked totally different. They were crazy about power and knew what kind of future awaited them with the power they possessed.

"Are you going to bring Henry and Jessie with you?" Victoria asked and looked at the kids standing beside Mykel and held his hands.

"No, I'll go and drop them at the orphanage in Verdentia so they can play with their friends. You guys enter the rift first with Zachary and Javelin when they arrive. I'll see you guys in there later," Mykel answered and tried to comfort Henry and Jessie since Sabel, Sophia, Duncan, and Felix were too scary for them.

Mykel went to meet Melissa and dropped Henry and Jessie at her mansion since their friends were on their way there. He immediately left and went back to the border to enter the rift, and he made sure nobody noticed him.

When he entered the rift, he was welcomed by a strong pungent smell. He could see vomit near the entrance and it looked like everyone couldn't handle the smell. He then followed the footprints until he stopped to look at dozens of Awakeners heavily injured not far from the entrance.

The whole raid team stuck there because half of them were injured and they had to take care of those who were on the brink of death. The reason wasn't just because of the monsters they fought, but the virus and the poison that were slowly killing them.

"Looks like she's next on the list," Mykel said as he looked at the wasteland. "I don't think they will be able to defeat Deviatris," he added and looked at the carcasses around him.

Mykel walked past them and none of them noticed his presence, and then he noticed when Sabel was mixing something. He observed Sabel and realized he was making an antidote after he himself was exposed to the virus and the poison.

"On second thought, they're going to be fine," Mykel said and watched as Sabel finished the antidote and distributed it to everyone.
