Chapter 378 Four remains.
Victoria and the others came back with the portal she made, everyone was safe except their ears were damaged from the sonic explosion. They struggled to stand on their own, but the moment they saw Luciel standing in front of Mykel, they were pointing their weapons at her.
"How cute..." Luciel giggled quietly as she looked at all of them and the weapons they were holding. "Hmm? That's an interesting sword you have there," she looked at the Light Sword in Zachary's hand.
Luciel walked toward Zachary and everyone else fell to the ground because of her overwhelming presence. She then slowly reached for the sword, but Zachary's eyes suddenly glowed, he was possessed by Jeanne. But, before he could do anything, Luciel moved to Zachary's back, hit him on the nape, and made him lose consciousness for a split second.
"That was a quite pathetic attempt. You should know better you're no match for me by borrowing a mortal's body," Luciel said as she took the Light Sword from Zachary's hand. "Don't worry, I'm going to give your sword back. So wait for me," she looked at Zachary and then used her mind to make him faint, forcing Jeanne out of his body.
Luciel walked back and everyone could move again like nothing had happened. They realized they lost their powers and strength the moment she got too close to them. She was invincible and impossible to kill no matter how strong they were because there was a wall that couldn't be broken. A mere mortal, a human trying to fight the one who subdued the gods, the strongest being that had ever existed.
"All of you can be at ease..." Luciel looked at the Light Sword in her hand. "I'm not going to touch you or any mortals. I have made a deal with him and you can live in peace because it's over now," she assured as she looked at Elestria.
"What kind of a deal?" Elestria asked and looked at Luciel with concern and fear.
"Hmm..." Luciel squinted her eyes and wondered if she should give an answer. "I'm going to take him with me, in exchange for sparing humankind. It's a fair price, don't you think?" she answered as she stood behind Mykel.
"Where are you taking him to?" Elestria asked and she didn't like the idea of Mykel becoming Luciel's possession.
"Somewhere where no humankind can reach," Luciel answered with a mischievous smile as she stared at Elestria. "Looks like you have a regret for not letting him embrace you," she added.@@@@
Elestria was indeed regretting not letting Mykel embrace her because of the promise she made with Elysande. If she knew Mykel would leave her, she would have done something to be able to have a private conversation with him again.
Mykel walked toward Elestria and slowly reached her hands to comfort her and let her feel his touch.
"I will be back, Your Highness," Mykel said as he lifted Elestria's hand and kissed it. "When I come back, I hope you will become the greatest Queen," he looked Elestria in the eye.
"I promise I will become the greatest Queen. I will redeem all the wrongdoings I did and become the Queen you want me to be. But I want you to promise me that you will come back for me, no, for Elysande and me," Elestria responded as she held Mykel's hands tightly.
"I promise," Mykel smiled gently as he nodded his head.
"W-we would use our power to help them make a better world. We swear on our lives and we will accept death if we use our powers for our own benefits," Aston answered with his trembling voice.
Javelin couldn't even open her mouth, but she could nod her head repeatedly and agree with what Aston said.
"I will remember those words," Mykel said as he walked away from them.
Luciel spread her wing and wrapped it around Mykel after she believed his finished all the business he had with them. She then flapped her wing, making a strong gust of wind and they both disappeared into thin air.
Elysande who had just come to check on Elestria and Mykel was too late to see him. She then looked at the gruesome scenery on the site, she was so sick that she almost threw up, but she managed to hold it in.
"Why did he lower himself all this time with that power he possesses?" Aston asked.
"No, he's not lowering himself..." Elestria shook her head. "He's elevating us, making us the only human beings that can make this world a better place. He's not a hero or a villain, he's someone that's necessary in this kind of world and situation," she answered.
They looked at Elestria and thought that Mykel had been harsh and heartless toward them, but it was necessary to shape them. To create a diamond it needed to be under a lot of pressure, shaping a diamond required another diamond to make it possible. He was in fact the pressure and the tool that shaped the diamond, that was what they believed after giving a long thought about him.
"Where's Mykel?" Elysande looked around as she stood behind Elestria, seeking comfort.
"He's gone. He won't be back anytime soon, and I don't know when he's going to come back," Elestria answered as she looked at the bright blue sky.
Elysande was taken aback by the answer, but it didn't take a while for her to accept it. She then looked at the sky and she had prepared for this moment because Mykel had informed her beforehand.
"I see. He will come back, and he will be fine," Elysande said with a smile.
"I believe so too. He told me to trust him, and this time I will trust him and we will wait for him to come back," Elestria smiled as she nodded her head in agreement. "It's over now. The world is safe Thanks to him," she turned around to look at Elestria.
"Hmm, I'm proud of you, Ester," Elsyande hugged Elestria so tightly. "Let's go home. The people are waiting for the good news," she said.
"Yes, the people need to know that it's finally over," Elestria nodded her head.
