Chapter 299: The Alpha’s Wrath
Chapter 299: The Alpha’s Wrath
Everyone in the audience was too stunned at the appearance of someone they had believed to be dead, who had suddenly run into the scene and pulled the wolfless out of the pool.
How come the Alpha was here? Wasn’t he supposed to be dead? Everyone watching thought.
Javier was too astonished that he remained sitting on the chair with his eyes widened in disbelief, until he felt the Alpha’s suffocating aura flare in the room, bringing every Gamma and warrior to their knees automatically.
"Who is responsible for this?" came the terrifyingly low voice of the Supreme Alpha, making them all shake in their positions.
"Ho-how come you are here?" Javier stammered, too shocked and confused to allow his body to obey and go into automatic submission. "Aren’t you supposed to be dead?!"
"Too bad I don’t die that easily, dear cousin, and I assume you are responsible for punishing my Luna this way when you are not even the Alpha," he stated in a dry tone as he took off his coat and draped it around his shivering wife, who was clinging to the front of his shirt, her face pale and her teeth chattering.
Javier jerked out of his chair. "You can’t just come out of nowhere when everyone believed you are dead and interfere in this sentence! You have lost your seat! This is my place now, and that woman will be punished until she confesses the truth of what she has done to Ember!" he rebuked, not caring that his aura wasn’t as heavy as the Supreme Alpha’s, and that what made one the Supreme Alpha was the power to make any wolf submit.
Everyone watching from their screens was taken aback at this turn of events, when they had believed until now that the Supreme Alpha had been dead and they had to make due of an Alpha with average energy.
Even Matt, who was watching and rushing to reach the scene after noticing Sebastian, was shocked, only his own shock came from seeing his friend return this soon when he normally didn’t come back until after a week or more. This was the first time Sebastian was returning after only three days.
However, Matt’s shock at seeing Sebastian wasn’t as strong as his relief, because had he not come, the Luna would have been left in that electric water until who knew how long it would take for her body to finally shut down from the constant electrocution and stress on her system.
He shoved pack members out of his way so he could reach the scene, and on his way he found Nick, Gilbert, and Zoe hurrying in the same direction he was going. They joined him, all wanting to reach there and witness the scene and to make sure the Luna was fine.
"How is he alive?" Nick commented in surprise, stunned like everyone else, as he had believed until now that his cousin was dead.
"Does it matter? Vee is free from your psycho brother, that’s what matters now," Zoe remarked as she ran through the dungeon halls, relieved that her brother had come right on time to stop Javier’s nonsense before things had gone completely out of control.
"You are right, it doesn’t matter. I just hope Vee is all right." Nick replied as they finally arrived at the room where the punishment pool was located, shoving their way inside behind Matt.
The moment they entered, their eyes immediately searched for their friend, anxious to see her condition after everything she had been put through.
Inside, Sebastian gently released his Luna, wrapping his coat around her as he allowed his sister, who had run toward him, to support her shivering body. He placed a hand on Zoe’s head, and she looked at him with teary eyes and whispered, "Thank you for making it on time."
He gave her a nod, then turned to face Javier with a dark scowl, the idiot who didn’t know when not to lay his hand on a Luna again.
The Supreme Alpha’s energy flared so intensely that even people outside the building felt a chill run down their spines. Javier’s knees were knocking together, but he fought it, refusing to submit, burning with anger and rage at the sight of his cousin being alive.
How was this even possible when he had believed until now that Sebastian was dead and gone from his life?!
Not only that, he had been given proof of his death and had received prior notice that the assassination would be successful and that Sebastian wouldn’t be coming back alive!
Javier hadn’t been responsible for the assassination, which he wished to high heavens he had been, but he had randomly received a picture on his phone of the assassination attempt, and it had brightened his mood like crazy. Unfortunately, it seemed that his fucker of a cousin hadn’t been killed by whoever the enemy trying to end him was.
This was Javier’s reign, and Sebastian wasn’t supposed to come back and ruin it for him! All his life he had wanted to rule Silver and be an Alpha, but this piece of shit had always stood in his way, always overshadowing him no matter how hard he tried.
"You better go back to the grave you crawled out from, cousin, because this is going to be my world now." Javier said through gritted teeth, and his mother, who was watching from outside, facepalmed at her son’s stupidity.
"Javier, bow down you fool!" She mused.
Did he think he could face a Supreme Alpha?
Instead of keeping his mouth shut and going down like everyone else, he was actually speaking back. Camilla thought, watching the screen and feeling anxious for her son.
"It seems I have given you too much liberty in this pack, cousin. Instead of investigating what caused my so-called assassination, you are attempting to find ways to kill my Luna. And now you are refusing to submit to your Alpha. That in itself is a crime, and it will not go unpunished."
"I would like to see you dare to punish me for doing what is right." Javier challenged, baring his teeth as fur began to rise along his arms as though he was preparing to shift.
"Throw him into the pool." The Supreme Alpha ordered his warriors because it seemed Javier needed something to calm that hot head of his.
The warriors were quick to obey and rushed to grab him.
Javier fought back, throwing the warriors off him, and Sebastian, who watched him fight, couldn’t help but notice how much his cousin had improved in his combat skills and how the warriors were struggling to hold him down.
Still, not having the strong Alpha bloodline, Javier was weaker than a Supreme Alpha.
Letting out a sigh, Sebastian moved toward his cousin and, without so much as an effort, grabbed his collar, delivered a hard punch to his nose that instantly broke it and caught him off guard, and then shoved him into the electric pool, where Javier was immediately being electrocuted and thrashing above the surface.
"Turn off the cameras and let him enjoy being electrocuted in peace until he either finds his way out of the water or dies in it. No one go near him." The Supreme Alpha ordered coldly.
Then he turned away from his cousin and returned to his wife.
Bending down, he gathered her carefully into his arms, and immediately he began to walk away. Zoe, Nick, Matt, and Gilbert followed behind him, and all the warriors moved aside and gave them a clear path to pass.
The remaining warriors were ordered to leave Javier alone as his body tried to fight the electric shock, while his mother and Sofia, who had been watching from elsewhere, hurried from the places they had been observing from, desperate to reach Javier and turn off the electricity in the room.
No matter how disrespectful her son could be, Camilla thought, he was still her boy. She had raised him, watched him grow, and despite all his faults, she couldn’t stand by and watch him suffer.
Sofia was thinking much the same thing.
No matter how much Javier had hurt her, no matter how many times he had raised his hand against her or made her feel unwanted, he was still her husband and mate, the man she loved with all her heart. She would never willingly let anything happen to him.
The Alpha was heartless to throw her mate into that dangerous water and simply leave him there.
She had to reach him and get him out.
Maybe then Javier would finally see how much she cared. Maybe then he would remember everything she had done for him and love her the way he once had. Maybe he would finally stop thinking about that witch, Ember, and focus on the mate who had stayed by his side through everything.
Those thoughts raced through Sofia’s mind as she ran through the halls as fast as she could, determined to reach him before he suffered more damage.
Javier, on the other hand, wasn’t about to give up without a fight.
He wasn’t claiming to be Alpha for no reason.
Through the electric current that rattled his entire body and made every muscle seize painfully, he forced himself to move and swim. With tremendous difficulty, he pulled himself out of the pool, heaving and struggling to regain control of his body as he collapsed onto the floor beside the water.
He stared at the ceiling as his expression slowly darkened and his fingers curled tightly at his sides.
Humiliation.
It seemed that was all he got.
And it was time he made that fucker pay for good.
Javier thought as he began to push himself up from the ground, but his bones weren’t cooperating and his muscles were still spasming from the electrocution.
He was cursing explosively when he suddenly paused after sensing a presence behind him.
Turning his head toward the entrance, Javier’s brows pulled together at the sight of the person standing there.
He scoffed. "What the fuck are you doing back here again?" he asked angrily.
The person tilted his head to the side, studying Javier for a long moment before speaking.
"You don’t think an electric pool is enough of a punishment for what you did, do you?"
