Chapter 17 Farewell
Chapter 17 Farewell
"Brother Lu Heng, will you be on my team?" Su Rourou, dressed in a pink swimsuit, looked charming and cute. She snuggled softly against Lu Heng's arm, her eyes sparkling.
"Dream on, Brother Lu wants to be on my team." Qin Meng, dressed in a white swimsuit, with a tall and slender figure, grabbed the other arm without backing down.
"What about me?" Lu Xue was left standing alone, arms crossed, speechless.
The two ignored her completely and continued to argue over who would have the most to do with. Eventually, they started fighting and chased each other on the beach.
Lu Heng, unfazed, opened his soda, took a sip, and shook his head with a smile: "Those two girls."
Instead of intervening as usual, Lu Xue quietly walked to her brother's side, looked up at him, and softly said, "Brother."
"What's wrong?" Lu Heng asked casually, his gaze still fixed on the two people playing in the distance.
"Are you leaving today?" Lu Xue's voice was soft, with a suppressed sob in it, and her eyes were red.
Lu Heng paused for a moment, neither denying nor offering any excuses to comfort him, but simply nodded gently: "Mm."
"I can't bear to part with you." Lu Xue could no longer hold back, hugged her brother tightly, buried her face in his chest, and cried.
Hearing the sound, Su Rourou and Qin Meng, who were chasing in the distance, stopped, exchanged a glance, and jogged back, asking in unison, "Why is she crying?"
Lu Heng didn't respond to them, but gently stroked his younger sister's head, his tone gentle and calm: "Don't cry, it's not like I can't come back from the Immortal Realm. Every now and then, your brother will come back to see you."
Lu Jianguo, Wang Xiulan, and Su Jian had already walked up to him, and the relaxed atmosphere from before was now completely gone.
"Will there be any danger during the tribulation?" Wang Xiulan's voice trembled slightly; her biggest worry was always her son's safety.
"Don't worry, there shouldn't be any problem with passing the tribulation." Lu Heng's tone was resolute, without the slightest hesitation.
He knew that hesitating at this time would only make his mother more worried.
"It's good that you're confident. When you get there, remember to be careful and come back to see us when you have time." Lu Jianguo patted his son's shoulder, his thick palm applying a little pressure.
On the surface, she appears the strongest, but in reality, her chest feels tight and she wants to cry, but because there are so many people around, she can only hold it in, her Adam's apple bobbing up and down.
"I will." Lu Heng smiled slightly.
"Can we contact each other by phone over there?" Su Jian suddenly asked. He knew it was a stupid question as soon as it left his mouth, but he couldn't help it. What if, what if they could get in touch?
Lu Heng shook his head, indicating that it was no good.
If I could, I would have called my parents directly ten thousand years ago.
"Sigh." Su Jian sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping slightly.
Just then, a thunderclap suddenly exploded overhead.
Everyone looked up at the same time and saw dark clouds rolling in the sky, like ink churning, quickly gathering into a huge vortex that blotted out the sun and was terrifying in its power.
Lightning flashed faintly deep within the clouds, as if the heavens were brewing an unprecedented thunderous baptism.
Lu Heng gently released his sister, his gaze sweeping over everyone's faces. He knew it was time to say goodbye.
His body slowly rose into the air, his voice fading into the distance as he ascended: "Mom and Dad, sister, Elder Su, and you two girls, remember to cultivate diligently. Improving your cultivation will increase your lifespan. I hope to see each of you again when I return. If anything important happens, go to the Golden Statue of Merit and Pray, I can see you."
Su Rourou and Qin Meng exchanged a glance, then shouted at the same time with all their might, "If we cultivate diligently, will you marry us when you come back next time?"
The figures in the sky had disappeared, and only a voice could be heard from afar above the clouds.
"If you all reach the Nascent Soul stage when I return, I will marry you all!"
"It's a deal!" the two girls shouted to the sky, their voices carrying on the sea breeze.
This time, there was no response.
Outside the atmosphere, Lu Heng stood in the void, facing the immortal tribulation he had been waiting for for ten thousand years.
His face showed no fear, only boundless excitement and exhilaration.
No longer suppressing his cultivation, he allowed the bottleneck within his body, which had long been overburdened, to shatter with a deafening roar, and his aura surged skyward like a volcanic eruption.
"After ten thousand years of cultivation, my heart's desire is fulfilled. Please grant me a tribulation of lightning to grant my wish!"
However, the vortex in the sky did not unleash any lightning.
After a brief silence, an ancient and sacred voice emanated from the depths of the vortex, carrying a hint of ambiguous amusement: "Entering the Dao through demonic means, yet accumulating merit—interesting. The tribulation lightning is waived!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the tribulation clouds dispersed, and a wisp of dazzling golden immortal energy shot out from the center of the vortex and went straight into Lu Heng's dantian.
The celestial energy was both intense and gentle, flowing throughout his body and tempering his eight extraordinary meridians. The spiritual power that had accumulated within him for ten thousand years surged like boiling water in that instant, rapidly transforming into an even purer and more powerful force.
It is divine power!
"I've broken through!" Lu Heng felt the earth-shaking changes within his body and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
After ten thousand years of arduous cultivation, he finally attained enlightenment.
In the void, an unimaginably huge immortal gate slowly opened, emitting a dull and heavy creaking sound as if each sound was striking the heavens and earth.
The light shining through the door was warm and distant, like a whole new world beckoning to him.
"Thank you for your kindness!" Lu Heng solemnly thanked the void, then turned around and took one last look at the blue planet.
Recalling the bits and pieces of the past six months.
All the complex emotions surged up in that one look, then subsided completely.
After a moment, he turned his gaze back to the open gate, his eyes now devoid of any hesitation.
With a wave of his hand, the modern clothes vanished like streams of light, replaced by a long, ancient-looking black robe, its hem fluttering in the air.
Then, without looking back, he moved and transformed into a streak of light, rushing straight into the enormous immortal gate.
The immortal gate slowly closed behind him, severing all connections between the two worlds.
The sea breeze swept across the beach, wiping away the tear stains on Lu Xue's face and lifting Wang Xiulan's white hair.
Su Rourou and Qin Meng clenched their fists.
Lu Jianguo finally couldn't hold back any longer, turned around, and wiped his eyes hard with the back of his rough hand.
Su Jian patted his old friend on the shoulder without saying anything.
The bottle of soda was still on the beach, its cool surface condensing into fine droplets that slowly slid down the sides.
A spatial storm erupted within the wormhole, causing Lu Heng to feel dizzy and disoriented. Even with his immortal power protecting him, he could not maintain his balance and eventually lost consciousness.
When I woke up, I vaguely heard the sound of dripping water. My alertness immediately went up, and I opened my eyes to look around.
