Chapter 224: Surprise, It’s Fire Lion!Syvarn quickly shut down the display, fingers flying over the keys as he began encrypting the lab’s systems.

The lights in the room dimmed slightly as the lockdown override triggered.

"Drask, think about the plan later," he said without looking up.

"Right now, we need to move."

Drask stood beside him, arms tense, yellow eyes scanning the lab walls.

"You think they’ve found us?"

Syvarn nodded. "I’m sure of it."

"The serum’s signal—it was active long enough."

"They could’ve traced it back to this location."

Drask took a deep breath, jaw tight. "So it’s time to run."

"Yes," Syvarn replied. "Our base is compromised."

Drask crossed his arms.

"But if they can still track the serum—then even if we leave, they’ll just follow again."

"I’ve already handled that," Syvarn said, turning to a separate terminal.

"I developed a way to block the signal. It’s closed off now—shut completely. No more tracing. But..."

He looked over his shoulder at Drask.

"They knew before I sealed it. So this place isn’t safe anymore."

Drask narrowed his eyes. "So you’re saying we can’t fight now."

"Not here," Syvarn said. "I can relocate the re

"They ran again," he muttered, stepping forward and kicking a fallen crate aside.

"Cowards."

He walked closer to the exit, looking at the shadows left behind.

"But next time... I’ll burn them both down."

Far away, under the cover of hidden tunnels and Syvarn’s fast-transport tech, the two escapees moved through a long armored corridor.

The floor buzzed with quiet hums of powered wheels.

The small escape pod glided smoothly through a rail system underground.

Drask sat with arms crossed, eyes burning with quiet rage.

He had watched Blazren grow. That lion wasn’t the same man from before.

"Tch," Drask growled. "Blazren... I’ll make you pay."

His claws flexed slightly.

"That power... you’ve gotten faster. Stronger. You nearly caught us."

He looked toward Syvarn, who was already working on a portable terminal inside the pod.

"When we arrive," Drask said, voice low, "make more of the serum. As many as you can."

Syvarn turned to him. "What about class types?"

Drask’s glare sharpened.

"I don’t care about rank anymore. I don’t care if they’re unstable."

He leaned forward.

"As long as they’re strong... and berserk... we flood the city."

Syvarn smirked, tapping a few commands into the machine.

"Sounds like chaos."

He leaned back slightly, eyes still locked on the screen.

"They burned my lab," he said. "They ruined months of my work."

His voice lowered.

"They think that makes them heroes?"

His eyes gleamed as the machine confirmed the first ready batch.

"I’ll make sure they feel what it’s like to lose something."

Drask stepped closer, arms crossed, shadow runes flickering faintly across his skin.

"They think they’ve won just because they found a hideout."

He looked forward, past Syvarn, as if already seeing the next battlefield.

"They haven’t seen anything yet."

He flexed his claws once. His voice dropped to a growl.

"Let the next wave begin."

His boots thudded on the floor as he turned to the storage crates filled with syringes and sealed injectors.

"We’ll show them what happens when you corner a beast."

He raised one clawed hand and pointed forward.

"We’ll show them what happens when you fight us."

He grinned now, teeth sharp.

"The Beastkin Brood."
