Chapter 191: A skilled spy
"Wait! Sire heirs? He brought you to—"Grayson’s words cut off abruptly as Leia interrupted him sharply.
"You don’t need to pretend to care about me all of a sudden," she said. "I’m still upset with you."
"Leia... then tell me what I must do to ease your anger," Grayson urged, stepping closer. "Tell me about it, and I’ll do it."
Leia’s gaze remained steady, though her voice softened slightly. "First... You need to tell Delia the truth." She paused, then added, "The rest... I’ll decide later. I need time. I’ve learned so much today... I need to process it. And I don’t think your lives are in danger anymore since you’re in this pack."
Without another word, she turned toward the door and walked away.
Renzo chuckled under his breath, rising to his feet. "Your daughter is a lot like you, Grayson, fiery and stubborn."
"But she’s just angry with me," Grayson said softly, his voice tinged with guilt. "Anisha... She’s gone. And Leia didn’t discuss much about her," he whispered, almost to himself.
Renzo’s expression hardened. "You saw the hospital records, didn’t you? She fell ill. It was an incurable disease," he replied firmly.
Grayson shook his head slowly, his eyes clouded with pain. "No... I don’t believe that was the whole truth. Anisha was different. Even as an omega, she stood apart. The first time I met her was when I accidentally fell down a steep hill. I injured my arm badly... And she found me. Her touch... It healed me. Her healing was unlike anything I’d ever known, stronger than even an alpha’s."
"Let’s go and meet the witch who sold your daughter to these wolves," Renzo muttered under his breath with anger. "I can’t believe they wanted our Leia to bear heirs for them. I’m going to confront them."
"Don’t," Grayson replied firmly. "I can see Leia loves three of them. And Lucien’s protectiveness toward her... We’ve both witnessed it."
Renzo’s jaw tightened. "Still, as her uncle, I have every right to scold those three." Without another word, he strode toward the door.
Grayson sighed deeply, his shoulders heavy with concern, and followed his brother.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Leia sat calmly with her three mates.
"I talked with my father and uncle," Leia said, her gaze fixed on Lucien. "I want to take them to Delia."
"Sure," Lucien answered without hesitation.
Before anyone could speak further, Renzo’s voice rang out from the living room. "You three are the mates of my niece."
"Yes," Lucien answered firmly.
"Why did you three want heirs from her?" Renzo asked, his eyes suddenly glowing a fierce golden, as if his wolf was ready to take charge and attack at any moment.
"Because she was the last pure-blooded she-wolf," Lucien admitted. "That was my thought at first. As the Alpha and eldest brother, my two brothers agreed with me. But my thoughts toward her... They changed over time."
"You can’t use my niece to bear any heir unless she wants it," Renzo stated firmly, stepping closer.
Leia, hearing the intensity in Renzo’s tone, felt strange. She had heard of families protecting their own, but witnessing it firsthand for the first time made her heart beat in a way she could not explain.
Grayson placed a steady hand on Renzo’s shoulder, and Renzo visibly calmed under his touch.
"You three have protected my daughter all this time," Grayson said. "So I believe it’s more than duty, you three are in love with her. As for Renzo, he has always been deeply attached to Leia. Even though we’ve spent so little time with her, the bond is undeniable and precious."
"We understand that," Ronan replied. "Lucien, take them to Delia. Kieran and I will remain here."
"I will also stay," Renzo said, his gaze fixing on Ronan and Kieran.
"Fine," Lucien said. He turned to Leia, offering his hand. "Come with me."
Leia hesitated for a moment, then allowed him to hold her hand. As they began to walk away, Grayson followed close behind, leaving the others in the living room.
"Did Leia ever feel discomfort here?" Renzo asked, settling into the couch.
"At first, yes," Ronan replied softly.
"Why are you both suddenly showing care toward Leia when you never stayed close to her? She suffered so much," Kieran complained, crossing his arms as he sat across from Renzo.
"Kid, you don’t know the truth about our past," Renzo said firmly. "Leia’s mother hid her mark from my brother. Because of that, we could never locate Leia and her mother."
"How did she hide the mark? That’s impossible," Ronan stated, frowning.
Renzo turned a bit serious. "We found out that Delia was Leia’s childhood friend. Her grandmother knew us. That means she knew exactly who my sister-in-law was. Perhaps the witch helped her. That’s what we believe. My brother... He’ll uncover the truth soon enough."
"Even at this age, you two still seem so strong," Kieran remarked, a hint of admiration in his tone.
Renzo straightened, meeting his gaze. "We are direct descendants of the Moon Goddess. That’s why our power is unmatched among the alphas. We don’t age the way others do in strength."
"Aaron is locked in the dungeon. He has refused to speak with us. But he wants to speak with your brother. I think Lucien will make them meet," Ronan asserted. Just then, the phone in his pocket rang. He checked the ID and excused himself.
"Your eldest brother is a bit different, isn’t he? I witnessed his strength... And his wolf form in the forest last night," Renzo said, glancing at Kieran with a knowing look.
Kieran nodded firmly. "Lucien is the strongest among all werewolves."
"Hmm... We’ve heard that much." Renzo’s tone carried a hint of intrigue.
Curiosity flickering in his eyes, Kieran asked, "How did you two even enter the forest?"
Renzo smirked. "We can teleport easily. That’s why I said earlier, no border is too difficult for us to cross."
Ronan’s voice broke in but with weight. "Lucien can teleport too. We used to think only he possessed such a power."
Renzo frowned, confusion etching across his features. "How is it possible that Lucien possesses such a power? Teleportation is only limited to our clan."
"Maybe our brother is blessed by the Moon Goddess," Kieran said proudly, a gleam of reverence in his voice. He noticed the pride stirring in Renzo, which seemed to irritate him slightly.
"He slaughtered an entire coven of witches, didn’t he?" Renzo probed suddenly.
"You know that too?" Ronan frowned, his brows knitting together.
Renzo gave a slight smirk. "I did my research before coming here. The Alpha King has a keen interest in your eldest brother. I’m certain he’s after Lucien’s power."
"That’s a serious accusation against our king," Ronan replied cautiously.
"Well, truth rarely hides quietly," Renzo said, leaning forward. "I’m a skilled spy too. I possess information others would die to uncover. When Lucien returns, I’ll tell him everything. Francis could very well be the reason for our clan’s downfall." His voice hardened, fists tightening at his sides.
"What did you say?" Kieran and Ronan spoke in unison in shock. Fortunately, no servants were nearby to overhear.
"Why would our Alpha King want the downfall of your clan?" Ronan asked.
"Because we were the strongest," Renzo said firmly. "We refused to bow to his sovereignty. Unlike other packs, we never bent the knee to the Alpha King. That has always been our suspicion. But one thing is certain, Lucien has been Francis’s target for a long time."
Ronan and Kieran furrowed their brows together, wondering if they were unaware of something big.

Leia stopped in front of a house, her gaze fixed.
"You really released Delia?" she whispered to Lucien.
"Yes," Lucien replied calmly, "but she remains under my watchful eyes."
Grayson frowned in confusion. "The witch inside hardly has any power left."
"Because she was given a potion that stripped her of her magic permanently," Lucien explained.
"So... Delia can’t perform any magic at all?" Leia asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"Correct," Lucien affirmed. "That was the price she paid for betraying and harming you."
With that, the group moved forward as the guards opened the door for them, stepping inside the house.
Leia’s eyes swept across the small living room when the soft sound of footsteps reached her ears.
Delia emerged from the kitchen, a bowl cradled in her hands.
"Leia!" Delia exclaimed, her voice quivering. Her gaze then shifted to Grayson, lingering for a moment before narrowing in confusion, she did not recognise him.
Quickly, she set the bowl down on the table beside her.
"I’m sorry," Delia said softly, her voice almost breaking. "I know you may never forgive me... But I swear, I will repent for what I did to you."
Leia turned her head toward Grayson, her tone steady. "This is my father."
Delia froze, her eyes widening in shock.
"But—" she began, her voice faltering.
"It’s a long story," Leia interrupted gently, her voice firm. "And your grandmother deceived you." She paused, then added, "The rest... My father will explain."
Her gaze met Grayson’s, and he stepped forward.
"What’s your mother’s name?" Grayson asked.
"Camelia Timberlake," Delia replied.
"I remember this lady. She came to my clan twenty-four years ago with several other witches. They murdered a couple and their daughter for a ritual," Grayson answered.
