Chapter 501: Thunder Bagua! Sweeping the Prince
Vegeta clutched the Dragon Balls, preparing to continue his crawl out of the ventilation shaft. However, he was an incredibly arrogant and vicious man. Slipping away so quietly just wasn’t thrilling enough. He wanted to fan the flames and make the idiot below the absolute center of attention. Deliberately raising his foot, Vegeta delivered a vicious kick to the metal partition right in front of him.
Clang!
A dull, heavy metallic clang echoed through the ventilation shaft. Within the spaceship’s relatively quiet interior, the sound was like a massive bronze gong being struck. The moment the kick landed, Vegeta shrank back, clutching the Dragon Balls tightly as he prepared to enjoy the show as the guards swarmed the giant below.
In the middle of the corridor, Kaido’s footsteps came to an abrupt halt. He raised his head, his bloodshot eyes locking onto the exact vent in the ceiling where the noise originated. His berserk Conqueror’s Haki expanded outward like a physical force, causing the surrounding metal walls to groan and twist under the immense pressure. Kaido’s mouth split into a terrifyingly savage grin. His formidable Observation Haki had long since detected the little rat hiding in the pipes; he just hadn’t bothered to deal with it. He never expected this rat to actually dare provoke him.
"Found you," Kaido chuckled darkly.
His legs bent sharply, the thick muscles of his thighs bulging like twisted tree roots. His feet stamped two deep craters directly into the heavy alloy plating.
Boom!
Kaido’s massive frame shot upward from the ground like a cannonball. Without using his hands, he smashed his indestructible head straight through the alloy ceiling—a barrier designed to withstand meteorite impacts. Metal fragments and sparks showered in all directions as the ventilation shaft was brutally torn apart by his sheer, raw power.
Hiding within, Vegeta had zero time to react. All he saw was a giant face plastered with a savage grin suddenly appearing right in front of him. Immediately after, a massive hand like a pair of iron tongs pierced through the flying metal shrapnel and clamped firmly around his right ankle. The grip was terrifyingly strong; Vegeta could actually hear his ankle bones groaning in protest.
"Little monkey, where exactly do you think you’re running?" Kaido sneered, dangling Vegeta in the air as if holding a plucked chick. His eyes were brimming with cruel amusement.
Though suspended upside down by that iron grip, Vegeta didn’t panic. The combat instincts of the battle-hardened Saiyan Prince flared to life. Completely ignoring the agonizing pain shooting from his ankle, he used the upward momentum of Kaido’s lift, twisted his waist, and contorted his body at an impossible mid-air angle. With his right fist tightly clenched, he drove a punch straight at Kaido’s vein-bulging face, the strike howling as it tore through the air.
This punch carried the full weight of his twenty-four thousand battle power. The sheer shockwave rippled outward, buckling the surrounding alloy bulkheads into outward-bulging craters.
Thud!
An incredibly dull, heavy thud echoed through the corridor. Kaido’s head merely tilted back slightly with the force of the blow. He hadn’t even shifted his stance by a fraction of an inch. Through his messy black hair, those bloodshot eyes stared back at the short man dangling before him with deep intrigue. The corners of his mouth stretched into an exaggerated arc, revealing two rows of stark white teeth.
"Not a bad hit," Kaido’s gruff voice rumbled, vibrating painfully against Vegeta’s eardrums. "A bit stronger than that green-skinned, tumor-covered trash from earlier."
Vegeta’s pupils shrank violently. His prideful, devastating punch couldn’t even force this monster to take a single step back. He was the Saiyan Prince, his battle power skyrocketing after enduring a life-or-death struggle back on Earth! A punch capable of pulverizing a mountain to dust had merely left a faint red mark on the giant’s face. His extreme shock instantly warped into the furious rage of being underestimated.
"Stop spouting such arrogant nonsense, you ignorant, low-class native!" Vegeta roared.
Bringing his free hands together, he aimed his palms directly at Kaido’s broad chest. In less than a tenth of a second, the violent ki within him compressed frantically, forming a blinding blue sphere of highly pressurized energy. At this point-blank range, evasion was absolutely impossible.
"Turn to ashes!"
A blinding blue pillar of energy erupted at point-blank range, slamming directly into Kaido’s chest. The piercing light completely swallowed the space around them, the violent explosion blowing the metal flooring of the entire deck clean off. The surrounding precision instruments melted into puddles of molten iron under the extreme heat.
Using the recoil of the Energy Blast, Vegeta finally wrenched himself free from the giant’s grasp. Clutching the three Dragon Balls tightly to his chest, he tumbled through the air a few times before landing securely at the end of the corridor, over a dozen meters away. Gasping heavily for air, he kept his eyes locked on the billowing thick smoke ahead.
"Hmph. No matter how tough your body is, taking my full-power Maximum Energy Wave at point-blank range will leave you as nothing more than a pile of rotting meat," Vegeta spat, wiping the dust from the corner of his mouth with his usual arrogance. He absolutely refused to believe any living creature could endure that level of energy projection with their bare body.
Heavy footsteps echoed from the depths of the smoke.
Thump. Thump. Every step felt like it was stomping directly onto Vegeta’s heart. A towering silhouette tore through the thick smoke as Kaido took a massive stride forward. His ridiculous Security Guard No. 007 uniform had been entirely reduced to ashes, exposing his bronze, heavily scarred upper torso. Aside from a faint white mark on his broad chest where the ki blast had hit dead-on, his skin wasn’t even broken.
The expression on Vegeta’s face completely froze.
How is this possible? Even that self-proclaimed Emperor of the Universe, Frieza, wouldn’t dare take an attack of this magnitude head-on with just his physical body. What the hell was this horned monster? The scouter over his left eye clearly read the target’s battle power at a mere eight thousand. The damn machine had to be broken!
Kaido cracked his neck, the popping bones sounding sickeningly loud.
"Is that all you’ve got?" Kaido mocked. "That doesn’t even qualify as a tickle. Do you parlor-trick clowns only know how to set off these soft little fireworks?"
Kaido’s right hand gripped the pitch-black spiked club, Hassaikai. Crimson-black lightning danced and surged violently across the weapon. An aura ten times more savage than before erupted into the sky, his Conqueror’s Haki bearing down on Vegeta like a physical weight. It gave the Saiyan Prince an unprecedented sense of suffocation; even the surrounding air seemed to thicken into sludge.
Kaido’s massive frame blurred, moving at a speed the Saiyan’s eyes simply couldn’t track.
"Thunder Bagua!"
The muffled roar exploded in Vegeta’s ears as the Haki-infused club came crashing down with world-destroying momentum. There was absolutely no time to dodge. Gritting his teeth, Vegeta channeled every last drop of his ki into his arms, crossing them over his head in a desperate bid to block the strike.
Boom!
The club smashed brutally into Vegeta’s crossed arms. An entirely irresistible, terrifying force surged into his body like a tidal wave.
Crack! Crunch! A sickening symphony of shattering bone echoed out. Vegeta’s proud Saiyan physique proved hopelessly fragile before this display of absolute, unadulterated violence. His arm bones shrieked as they gave way, and his entire body was sent flying backwards at absurd speeds, like a baseball launched off a bat.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Vegeta’s body consecutively smashed through over a dozen heavy alloy bulkheads. Finally, he crashed straight through Frieza’s spaceship’s outer hull—a shell built to endure meteor strikes. He traced a long, bloody parabolic arc through the air before slamming viciously onto the ground beneath Namek’s sickly green sky, cratering the blue grass into a massive meteorite impact zone.
Resting Hassaikai on his shoulder, Kaido leapt right out of the massive hole Vegeta had torn in the ship. His enormous body plummeted like a meteor, the sheer impact of his landing pulverizing the solid rock beneath him as spiderweb cracks branched out in all directions. He looked down from his vantage point at the pathetic, battered short man at the bottom of the crater, his gaze shifting to the three giant orange orbs scattered nearby.
Kaido bared his teeth in a wide grin. "Not bad luck. Found three of ’em right off the bat."
As long as he brought these orbs back, Shop Manager Blake would definitely look at him in a new light. Maybe he’d even be rewarded with more of that power that allowed his lifeform to transcend. Pointing his club down at Vegeta, his tone left no room for negotiation.
"Hand over those beads," Kaido ordered. "I’m in a good mood today, so I might consider leaving you with a full corpse."
At the bottom of the crater, Vegeta struggled to prop himself up. His blue battle armor was in tatters, and his arms hung limply at his sides, clearly broken. The intense agony continually battered his nerves, yet there wasn’t a shred of fear in his black eyes. Instead, they burned with an incredibly mad, raging fury.
Vegeta turned his head and spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with bits of ruptured internal organs. He was the noble Saiyan Prince. The pride of the strongest warrior race in the universe! How could he allow himself to be so utterly humiliated on this backwater planet by some savage native whose name he didn’t even know? The humiliation of having his pride so thoroughly trampled drove him far madder than any physical pain.
"Leave me a full corpse?" Vegeta’s voice was frighteningly low, like a lone wolf backed into a deadly corner. "Who do you think you’re talking to, you lowly piece of trash!"
