Chapter 2 A Hungry Gaze
Chapter 2 A Hungry Gaze
"Trying to seduce you? No interest."
He filled the basin with water not for Su Yingxue, but to figure out the purpose of the bronze basin.
"You lowly slave, let me out."
Su Yingxue's angry voice came from the bottom of the basin, very softly, and could not be heard unless you leaned close.
Li Tianran knew that there were two of Master Han's disciples near the spirit field.
We must be careful.
He quickly filled the basin with water, completely drowning Su Yingxue and her voice.
The bottom of the basin.
Su Yingxue was completely submerged in water, her white dress soaked through and clinging to her body.
In her eyes, this basin was a giant lake, a water prison.
She has no time to admire her figure, which she is so proud of, and no mood to yell and curse.
She had to accept a fact.
He had been imprisoned by a lowly blood slave.
As a disciple of an evil cultivator, he lived a life constantly on the edge of danger.
At this moment, she could already smell death.
If she doesn't find a way, she might die at the hands of this lowly blood slave.
She immediately channeled her spiritual energy and held her breath in the water.
We can only wait.
She should wait until her junior brothers discover she is missing, or until her master returns.
Seeing that Su Yingxue had stopped making a fuss and struggling, Li Tianran also breathed a sigh of relief.
He looked around to make sure there was nothing amiss, then carried the basin of water into the woodshed.
The woodshed served as both his bedroom and kitchen.
No one but him would enter such a dilapidated place.
Li Tianran placed the basin of water next to the stove and quietly observed Su Yingxue in the water.
She sat cross-legged at the bottom of the basin, holding her breath, her spring-like beauty faintly visible.
Li Tianran felt nothing.
His most pressing task now is to figure out the purpose of the copper basin; this is his only chance to turn things around.
He planned to try all sorts of clumsy methods.
First, fill the container with water and soak Su Yingxue in it to see what her reaction is.
One hour later.
Night falls.
Li Tianran lit the firewood on the stove and examined the copper basin.
There was no change after adding water.
Su Yingxue's expression remained unchanged, occasionally opening her eyes to stare at him coldly.
Li Tianran raised an eyebrow, picked up the copper basin, and opened the door.
A cool breeze slipped in through the crack in the door, making the back of his neck feel tight.
He carefully poured out the water.
Su Yingxue, who had been sitting quietly at the bottom of the basin, suddenly jumped up, trying to break free, but her feet were welded to the bottom of the basin, and she could not fly out.
Li Tianran stared intently at the rim of the basin, not daring to blink.
What if this pot can't hold her?
What if she crawls out in the middle of the night?
What if she calls for help?
He quickly carried the empty basin back into the woodshed, grabbed a pair of rusty scissors, and stared intently at the rim of the basin.
The tip of the knife was only an inch from the rim of the basin. If Su Yingxue dared to show her face, he would cut her in half.
Seeing this, Su Yingxue, who was about to curse, wisely shut up.
Her gaze towards Li Tianran became slightly more docile.
Li Tianran didn't say anything, but just stared warily at the bottom of the basin.
He doesn't plan to keep causing trouble.
He had to wait, to see what would happen after twelve hours.
At this point, Su Yingxue changed her strategy.
"It's no use locking me up; I'll get out sooner or later."
Li Tianran looked down at the woman, about the size of a fingernail, in the basin.
Her white dress was covered in mud stains, and her hair was matted into clumps.
"Zhao Ling will come looking for me and find I'm not here—"
Li Tianran interrupted her threat.
"When she came to find you, I stuffed you into my pants."
Su Yingxue stared at Li Tianran's bluish-black face, her mind filled with uncontrollable images, and she became furious with embarrassment.
"You bastard!"
The woodshed was dark.
Moonlight streamed through the window cracks onto the rim of the basin, while the Blood Spirit Grass outside rustled in the wind.
One hour, two hours.
Li Tianran leaned against the bed leg; his legs were already numb.
He was very sleepy, but he dared not move.
He was afraid that if he moved, the terrifying woman in the basin would find a chance to escape.
"You might as well take a nap; I can't escape," Su Yingxue's voice rang out.
"Sleep with you?" Li Tianran asked rhetorically.
Su Yingxue opened her mouth slightly, speechless and choked with emotion.
Li Tianran looked down at the woman who stood high above him.
She stood at the bottom of the basin, head tilted back. The mud stains on her white dress had dried, and her hair clung to her face, covering half of her eyes.
Like an ordinary woman locked in a cage.
But he knew very well that this was just an illusion.
The woman before me, in order to cultivate, killed people, skinned them alive, wiped out entire families, ate human blood, and swallowed human hearts; she was capable of anything.
The woodshed fell silent.
Li Tianran didn't waste any more words with her and went to rest.
Before we knew it, six hours had passed.
Li Tianran woke up with a start, still half-asleep.
He immediately looked at the copper basin.
The empty basin was now covered with a thin layer of clear water, just reaching Su Yingxue's chest. It was colorless, odorless, and as clear as a mountain spring.
Su Yingxue stared at the water's surface for several breaths before speaking, her voice trembling.
"This water... came from my body?"
Li Tianran stood up, his legs were numb, and he staggered.
"Yes, you've come out of the water, senior sister."
Su Yingxue stood by the basin, looking down at her hands.
She spread her ten fingers, then clenched them again, repeating this several times. Then, as if she had been whipped, her whole body trembled violently.
"I lost five levels of Qi Refining..."
Su Yingxue, who had remained relatively calm, completely panicked.
Li Tianran ignored her.
He picked up the rusty scissors and stirred the water in the basin, splashing water onto Su Yingxue's face.
A small piece of rust had chipped off the scissors, revealing a dark iron color, smoother and harder than before.
Seeing this, he threw the scissors in and stirred it up again.
The rust was peeling off piece by piece.
A moment later, the rusty scissors gradually became sharp, gleaming coldly in the moonlight.
Su Yingxue looked at the scissors, then looked at her own hands in disbelief.
She pinched her arm, trying to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"What exactly is this water?"
Li Tianran did not answer.
He reached into his robes and pulled out the inferior Blood Spirit Grass.
The leaves were curled and the stems were shriveled; it was a non-grade spiritual herb that Master Han had given him at the end of last month.
Throw it into the basin.
In a short while, it turned from black to dark red, the leaves swelled up, and the stems thickened and became stiff.
Level 1 Blood Spirit Grass.
Li Tianran quickly scooped it out and stuffed it into his mouth, wolfing it down.
A surge of spiritual energy rushed into his dantian, as if someone had lit a fire inside his body, burning from the dantian to his limbs.
The black, hard horn on his forehead itched intensely, and he couldn't help but scratch it, his fingernails tearing off a piece of the hard keratinous shell with a snap.
Beneath the hard shell lies newly formed skin, its bluish-black color fading somewhat.
He looked down at his hands; the color of his skin had lightened slightly, no longer that ashen bluish-black, but with a hint of color.
Li Tianran's eyes suddenly reddened.
For the past three years, he has been waiting to die every day, cutting his wrists, bleeding himself, and watering the sacred fields, over and over again.
He thought he would stay like this until he was buried in the ground.
Su Yingxue also noticed his change and trembled all over.
"You lowly slave, are you consuming my cultivation?"
Li Tianran looked down at the woman, about the size of a fingernail, in the basin.
His eyes changed.
There was no fear, only hunger.
"Senior Sister Su, you don't want to become my cultivator, do you?"
