Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 74
Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 74
I received a notification this afternoon that the product will be available for purchase at 12 noon tomorrow.
To be honest... I'm a little nervous, after all, I'm a complete newbie author, this is my first time signing a contract and my first time publishing.
I haven't accumulated many drafts.
Let me briefly explain my situation. As I mentioned earlier, I'm a newbie author, so I'm definitely not a full-time writer; I have my own job.
The job itself is rather easy, so naturally the pay isn't high.
This amount of money is enough for one person to live comfortably, but don't even think about supporting a family.
Therefore, the only option is to develop a second career.
Originally, I was thinking of driving for food delivery at night, or saving up some money to buy a car and become a Didi driver.
But I was very unwilling, because I could see the end of this kind of life ahead of me.
Later, while browsing Bilibili, I came across a clip of an editor named Qinghu, who said that new authors could try writing fan fiction for their first book, and that the theme of "Swallowed Star" was good and had potential for high viewership.
When I saw it, I thought, "Oh my god, Swallowing the Stars!" It was a legendary book that I had read over and over again more than a dozen times back then, and I had also read a lot of related fanfiction. I thought to myself, "I have to give this a try."
So, taking advantage of this excitement, I finished writing the first few chapters.
At first, I was unsure of myself and looked around for people to review my work (there are some streamers on Bilibili who can review my work online and give me feedback), but I couldn't get a turn in line, so I was still unsure.
Finally, I gritted my teeth and sent the email to editor Qinghu, hoping to see if I could get a contract. Qinghu replied that I could try sending it directly to Group 8 and he would check the data.
Then it was sent.
Ironically, this book wasn't signed with Qinghu, because another editor snatched it up the next day, and I've been writing it ever since.
Because I never thought signing a contract would be so easy, I didn't even have an outline. After signing the contract, I started writing while working on the outline, and it was so tedious that I even encountered plot holes.
Overall, the book's data is pretty good. I just checked the backend and it's almost 5,000 favorites. I estimate it will reach 5,000 tomorrow.
It may not be as popular as the best-selling books on the charts, but I'm already very satisfied.
Of course, it would be even better if everyone could support us tomorrow.
Let's talk about the burst of updates.
There are only four words: Do my best.
As I mentioned before, I write books part-time; I also have a regular job.
I have some drafts saved up, but not many.
Ideally, it would be best to update one more time per day than before the book was published, maintaining a steady and consistent pace. But then I realized that the pace had become too bland.
Then, gritting my teeth, I decided to work five o'clock tomorrow!
As for the rest of the time, I will try my best to write. I hope to maintain three updates a day. Of course, please forgive me if I really can't keep up. But as long as the plot doesn't fall apart, two updates a day should be no problem.
Let's talk about the update time.
Since it was released at noon, it definitely couldn't be released all at once in the morning like before.
I will post three chapters starting at noon and two more chapters after 6 pm. This is the update plan for tomorrow.
As for tomorrow and beyond, I'll hear everyone's opinions. Do you want it to be updated in the morning as before, or in segments? I'll see how it goes and post it then.
Finally, I offer two books as a sacrifice:
"Man Is Devouring: Starting with the Great Nirvana"
The author of "Old Devourer" has a new book. His previous books were quite famous, and his writing is excellent. I recommended it once before, and I'm recommending it again now.
The main thing is that we've gotten to know each other now, haha. I really enjoyed reading his books back then.
His book is set during the Great Nirvana period. It's still in its early stages, but the plot and writing are excellent. It almost shattered my Dao heart when I read it. If you're interested, you can check it out.
Simultaneous Transmigration: Abyss of Interdimensional Realms
I met the author of this book on Bilibili. He's an author from the same era as me, and we're all in the "Multiverse" category.
I've also read his books. The genre is multiverse clones, with the main worlds being Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. Later on, he might expand into game or novel worlds. Since I haven't read Bleach, Naruto, or One Piece, I can't comment on the plot. But this guy really loves using references; the titles and content are full of them. I guess it's a lighthearted story. If you like this genre, you shouldn't miss it.
At 15 words, it's no longer considered a seedling; it will probably be published in the next week or two.
Alright, that's all for now. One last thing, I'd like to ask for some initial subscriptions. At least if the numbers look good, the author will be more motivated to keep writing.
Ah Que expresses her gratitude to everyone!
