Chapter 19 Snape Gets Angry Again
Chapter 19 Snape Gets Angry Again
As Torts's small figure became a tiny black dot on the stone path, Lin Qi had a thought. A black crow flew out from the wooden door behind him and soared into the sky in the blink of an eye, watching Torts from afar.
Back in the stone house, Lin Qi first ate breakfast.
With a simple gesture, cups, plates, forks, and spoons automatically flew to the sink for washing.
Lin Qi turned and walked to the desk.
Reach out and pull open the middle drawer.
A stack of parchment sat neatly in the drawer.
Lin Qi reached out and took it.
He closed the drawer, then reached out and turned the hourglass over from the corner of the table.
Strangely, even though it was turned upside down, not a single grain of sand fell out of the hourglass.
The first page of the parchment was a list, with more than a dozen names written on it.
Lin Qi knew that this list was the current board member list of the Stone Tower Chamber of Commerce.
Each name on this list is a key reason why the Shita Chamber of Commerce has grown to its current size.
"Why can't you just stay home and wait to share your Galleons... instead of reaching for what doesn't belong to you... you greedy parasites, what am I supposed to do with you?"
Lin Qi murmured as he scrolled down the list of names.
"Let me see... Selwin... Old Nott... Avery... all old acquaintances..."
Suddenly, his fingers paused.
A familiar name appeared before his eyes—Lucius Malfoy.
My eyes are fixed on that name, and my mind is racing through all the information about him.
Lynch fell into deep thought.
......
In the Potions Professor's office located underground in Hogwarts Castle.
A few candles were lit, bringing some light to the dark space. Glass bottles lined the walls, filled with colorful medicines, as well as some containing animal carcasses or plant specimens.
Snape sat behind his desk.
He had become accustomed to immersing himself in darkness over the years, as it brought him peace of mind.
He waited quietly.
Last night, that damn Jim Lynch said he was going to visit me today.
At that moment, in the foyer, I lost my composure, and his words shattered my facade.
That despicable bastard actually used Lily to attack him!
How dare he!
Anger burned within Snape.
But he maintained a calm expression.
He prepared himself, vowing not to lose his composure in front of Lynch again.
"Knock knock knock"
A very soft knock sounded on the door.
Snape was invigorated.
He stood up and strode toward the door, his black robe billowing in the air that couldn't escape him.
Snape flung the door open.
There was no one behind the door.
Before he could even wonder, a timid voice came from below.
"Professor Snape...Mr. Lynch asked me to pass on a message to you..."
Snape looked down.
A strange house-elf was standing in front of me.
He was wearing a fitted black tailcoat and stood there constantly twisting his body.
Snape had never seen a house-elf like this before.
In his memory, house-elves always wore clothes that looked like sacks made of rough linen, working hard while secretly avoiding human sight.
It's rare for a house-elf to appear before a human wizard, let alone one dressed in a ridiculous tuxedo!
Snape's eyes narrowed. "You just said someone wanted to deliver a message to me?"
"It's Mr. Lynch."
The house-elf's voice became very soft; if it weren't for the fact that they were the only two people in the underground corridor at that moment, Snape probably wouldn't have been able to hear what he was saying.
"What message does he want you to deliver?" Snape's voice was low and slow, his suppressed anger making his voice full of intimidation.
Totz couldn't help but tremble.
But remembering the work Mr. Lynch had taught him, he mustered his courage again.
He said in a trembling voice, "Mr. Lynch said he would visit you at four o'clock this afternoon."
This time, he spoke louder, so Snape heard him clearly.
But this didn't improve his mood; in fact, it made it worse.
Lynch's decision to come back at four in the afternoon made his earlier act of waiting in the office early in the morning seem ridiculous.
Snape controlled his anger, his voice barely audible as he said through clenched teeth, "Tell him... I'll be here waiting for him right on time!"
When Snape answered, Thortz shuddered as if pricked by a needle. He dared not look at Snape again, and only let out a very weak, short, and incoherent sound before turning and running away.
Mr. Lynch said there was no time to waste; he had to go back and report immediately.
Watching the house-elf in his comical tuxedo run off.
Snape's eye twitched.
Once the house-elf had disappeared down the steps, Snape turned and went back to his office.
With a loud bang, the door to the potions office was slammed shut.
......
Inside the stone house, Lynch sat on the sofa and learned about Snape's reaction from Thors.
"Haha." He chuckled. "Looks like you're still angry about what happened last night."
He shook his head, no longer thinking about Snape.
Lynch looked at Totz, who was standing in front of him.
Seeing that Totz was still fidgeting and seemed very uncomfortable.
Lin Qi frowned.
He thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers.
A silver light emerged from Totz's body, and as the silver light flowed like water, Totz's tailcoat reverted to its original cloth bag style.
The silver light eventually converged on Totz's chest, twisted, and then turned into black characters, which were imprinted in the very center of Totz's cloth bag and clothes.
Totz felt much more at ease as his clothes reverted to the shape of a sack. He looked down at the words that had appeared on his chest with curiosity.
Unfortunately, he wasn't very literate, and the characters on the screen were upside down, so he couldn't figure it out even after looking at it for a long time.
He looked up at Lin Qi.
"Thortz," Lynch said, "that's your name—Thortz."
Totz touched the name printed on the chest of his clothes, seemingly understanding but not quite.
"From now on, when I ask you to do something, just press this name on your clothes, and your clothes will turn back into the tuxedo you just wore."
Lynch stared intently at Thors, his expression serious: "Remember, every time you do something for me, you must wear a tailcoat. Whether it's delivering a message or fetching food from the Hogwarts kitchen, you absolutely cannot forget to do it when it involves me. If you forget, I'll replace you with a house-elf who won't forget."
That's a lie; Lynch would never let Totz leave his side.
But Totz didn't know.
He felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head in winter.
"Toltz understands! Thortz won't forget!"
He answered loudly.
Lin Qi's face returned to its gentle smile: "Good, I don't have any work for you right now. Find something to do in the house. I'll call you if I need anything."
Totz walked away cautiously.
Lin Qi then picked up another book from the bookshelf and started reading.
After lunch, Lin Qi continued reading.
He didn't stop until Totz came over and reminded him that it was three o'clock.
Stretching, Lin Qi walked out of the stone house.
"Alright, we can't keep our old friend waiting too long."
He set off along the stone path.
At 3:40, he arrived at Hogwarts Castle.
Five minutes later, he knocked on the door of the Potions professor's office.
"Severus, an old friend has come to see you~"
