Chapter 54 The Return Journey and Doubts
Chapter 54 The Return Journey and Doubts
Sandramea didn't refuse stubbornly. With Li Ang's help, she steadied herself and muttered softly, "At least you have some chivalry."
So she carried her shield on her back, dragged her warhammer with one hand, and had her other hand held by Leon. Due to the height difference, the two of them moved slowly toward the airship's docking point in a very strange posture.
After finally returning to the airship platform, they waited for a long time before boarding the return airship. Both of them breathed a sigh of relief. It was already evening when they arrived at the Wizard Tower.
After the two returned to the Potions faction together, Sandramea insisted that she could leave, and then she said, feigning composure:
"You did well today, Li Angqing. Go back and get some rest."
After saying that, she shouldered her warhammer, turned and left, moving slowly, trying to make her walk as steadily as possible.
Li Ang watched her figure disappear into the crowd before turning around and heading to the cafeteria. After a quick dinner, he didn't return to his dormitory but went directly to his mentor Eve's residence.
To be promoted to an apprentice wizard, you need to report to your mentor immediately.
Using the badge, Li Ang arrived at the door of his mentor Eve's living room once again and gently knocked.
"Come in," Eve's cool voice rang out.
Li Ang pushed open the door and entered, seeing Eve still wearing her nightgown, but sitting upright on the sofa.
"Mentor," Li Ang bowed respectfully.
"Hmm. Is something the matter?" Eve's gaze swept over him, as if she had noticed something, and a very subtle fluctuation flashed in her light blue eyes.
"Master, today while I was gathering materials in the Whispering Forest with Sandramea, my apprentice wizard, we encountered an accident..."
Li Ang briefly recounted his encounter with the stone golem and how he managed to condense a third star to successfully kill it in a critical moment.
Upon hearing the words "stone golem," Eve's hand holding the teacup paused almost imperceptibly. She set down the teacup, her voice devoid of emotion: "Level 2 stone golem? Whispering Forest?"
"Yes, mentor. Moreover, that stone golem behaves abnormally, moves extremely fast, and can instantly burst into speed to block our retreat," Li Ang added.
Eve paused for a moment before speaking slowly, her tone still calm: "A promotion in a time of crisis, well done. It seems you have talent beyond just potions."
Eve didn't explain much about the stone golem. After praising Li Ang, she stood up and walked into the bedroom. After a while, she came out with a neatly folded brown robe in her hand.
"This is the robe for an apprentice wizard." She handed the robe to Li Ang.
"From today onwards, you are officially promoted to apprentice wizard. For the basic courses that follow, you can choose to continue listening to the basic courses on the fourth floor, or you can go to the classroom on the fifth floor, where the knowledge will be taught in more depth."
"Yes, thank you, mentor." Li Ang accepted the brown robe that symbolized his new identity, his heart filled with excitement.
"Go ahead." Eve waved her hand and sat back down on the sofa.
Li Ang bowed and withdrew from the living room.
The moment the door closed, Eve's indifference vanished, replaced by a rare solemnity. She stood up and paced a couple of steps in the carpeted room, her long, light blue hair moving without wind.
"Whispering Forest... Stone Golem... Accelerate..." she murmured to herself, a flash of cold light passing through her eyes.
"Looks like things are going to get chaotic again..."
She walked to the door and instructed Ginny, who was standing in the outer room, "Ginny, I'm going to the enforcement team."
"Yes...yes, Lady Eve,"
Ginny was so shocked to see her beloved "little princess" leave her home on her own initiative, and her destination was the very law enforcement team she hated the most, which she considered to be full of stupid and violent people.

Meanwhile, on the other side...
Sandramea limped back to her mentor Karin's workshop area, preparing to apply for workshop time to prepare for the competition.
Karin, who was checking the materials, saw her disheveled appearance and raised her eyebrows in surprise:
"Maxwell? What happened to you? You went to Whispering Woods with that kid Leon and got injured even fighting a few walking mushrooms? Is the princess's precious apprentice just a pretty face with no substance, and you're the only one protecting her?"
Her tone was as teasing as ever.
Upon hearing this, Sandramea immediately retorted excitedly, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, "No way! Instructor Karin, you don't know, we encountered a level 2 stone golem."
"Stone golems?" Karin's teasing expression vanished instantly, replaced by seriousness. "You guys were pretty quick to escape."
"We couldn't escape; it was too fast."
Sandra Mea raised her head, her face pale but her pride barely concealed.
"It was Li Ang who advanced in the face of danger, successfully condensed the third star, and used the [Wind Blade Technique] to kill that stone golem. He saved me."
"What?" Karin thought she had misheard and asked blankly, "He killed the stone golem? And he even advanced in the midst of battle?"
After receiving Sandramea's affirmative answer, she was stunned. Hadn't he only been here for a little over a month? And he had already been promoted to apprentice wizard? Could it be that he wasn't a level 4 talent? Or was he the legendary level 6 talent? And even an apprentice wizard couldn't kill a level 2 magical beast.
Just then, a chill ran through her, and she suddenly realized another crucial point:
"Wait, you said the stone golem is fast? How could it possibly catch you? As far as I know, that thing is slow. The right thing to do is run away immediately..."
"No, mentor. It's very fast," Sandramea explained urgently.
"They were very fast, and they quickly got behind us and blocked our way, otherwise we would have run away long ago."
Karin frowned deeply. The stone golem's unusual speed made her suspicious. The regular cleaning of Whispering Forest was the responsibility of the enforcement team. The appearance of a level 2 magical beast was already a serious dereliction of duty, let alone a level 2 magical beast that had undergone an unknown mutation.
"Okay, I understand." Karin suppressed the turmoil in her heart and said to Sandramea.
"Go back and recover first. Ellie will arrange the workshop's usage time for you. I need to report this to the enforcement team immediately."

Eve walked through the Elementalist School's long corridor, which was covered with basic runes of various attributes, and arrived at the Enforcement Team on the twelfth floor of the Elementalist School. At this moment, the doors of the Enforcement Team's hall were wide open.
Before she could even step inside, the sounds of a heated argument could already be clearly heard.
A somewhat familiar female voice rose in pitch, filled with undisguised anger:
"...Investigate the cause? It's always the same excuse! The regular cleaning of Whispering Forest is the responsibility of your enforcement team. The appearance of a Level 2 magical beast is already a serious dereliction of duty, let alone a Level 2 magical beast that has undergone an unknown mutation. Tell me, how could a stone golem possess such explosive speed?"
