Wizards: Starting with the Refined Meditation Technique Guide

Chapter 1 Refined Illustrated Handbook

Chapter 1 Refined Illustrated Handbook

A gentle sea breeze blows as a huge sailboat sails on the sea.

On this wizard ship sailing towards Half Moon Strait, young wizards with aptitude for mental power are undergoing tests of their mental talent.

Leo stood at the end of the line, his mind intertwined with two different memories.

One is a college graduate, a poor, down-on-his-luck deliveryman wearing a yellow cape.

Another was a warrior from a fallen kingdom who was wanted by the empire for assaulting a nobleman and had no choice but to flee to the wizard's ship.

This continent was once home to a powerful empire called Pros.

The Proso people are known as a natural fighting nation by other countries because of their strong physique.

They were skilled warriors, and both sea pirates and powerful land powers feared the war potential of the Pros.

However, their good fortune was short-lived. Several years ago, the Pros were defeated in a battle against the newly rising Socratic Empire, and the Pros kingdom was destroyed. The defeated Pros submitted to the nobles of the Socratic Empire and became their warriors.

The Leo Danville that Leo transmigrated into was a Prosman who, after the fall of his kingdom, became a servant warrior for the son of a count nobleman in Socrates.

This noble count's son was arrogant and often sent Leo to bully lesser nobles, commoners, and slaves who were of lower status than him.

Their predecessors possessed the pride of the Pros, and despised such behavior of bullying the weak.

So the original owner slapped the earl's son, but unexpectedly, the slap made the other's head spin and he died.

The count was furious at his son's death and issued a warrant for his predecessor's arrest.

After defeating the Pros Empire, the Socratic Empire almost unified the continent.

Therefore, the anger of a powerful count of Socrates was enough to leave the predecessor with nowhere to escape.

With no other option, the former could only run onto the wizard's ship, which was his only way to survive.

Even the emperor of the Socratic Empire, who was about to unify the continent, was no match for the wizard.

After Leo absorbed the memories, a gentle voice rang in his mind.

"The 'Beginner Meditation Method' has been detected in the encyclopedia. Would you like to add it?"

The Elementary Meditation Method is a transcendent cultivation method obtained by those who come aboard the ship.

Mental talent, on the other hand, is determined by the mental energy gained through meditation cycles.

"Basic Meditation Method successfully added. Inferior quality illustration (Basic Meditation Method) obtained."

Leo

Leo's eyes flickered slightly.

This Refined Illustrated Manual was a premium item from a game Leo played before his transmigration, but unexpectedly, it became his cheat code after he transmigrated.

In the game, the Refinement Manual can be upgraded by consuming Refinement Points, thereby increasing the efficiency of acquiring higher-quality skills.

"Consumes 10 Refinement Points."

'Basic Meditation Method (Inferior Quality)' is refined into Basic Meditation Method (Common Quality)'

After a brief exercise, Leo discovered that although his mental strength talent had not improved significantly, his cultivation efficiency had increased considerably.

Through meditation, one might be able to deceive the wizards' talent tests and make them mistakenly believe that one has great talent.

Leo's gaze fell on the front of the line, where a burly young man was about to be tested.

This burly young man, like Leo, was also a Pros.

Silvery-white, tousled hair and a taller stature than average are two major characteristics of the Proso people.

The young man stood before Ryan, the wizard in charge of testing mental strength, and appeared as tall as a small mountain.

Ryan showed no reaction to the towering figure, even a hint of disgust: "Pros? The Tower of Dawn is far too lenient with those who possess spiritual aptitude. They even allow such a barbaric race as the Pros to board the wizard ship."

Ryan first complained, the sharpness in his tone causing a hint of ferocity to flash in the eyes of the young man from Prologis.

Ryan said, "Alright, here are the rules. Let's begin the test."

The young man from Prologis reached out and placed his hand on the crystal ball in front of him.

The crystal ball's light changed twice.

Wizard Ryan said, "Level 2 mental talent? Barbarians are barbarians after all, they're clearly not qualified to seek the truth. You're not up to the task. Go back to the mainland in a small boat later."

Upon hearing this, the Prolos youth's eyes flashed with a fierce light. He said, "You damned skinny stick, you've been insulting us brave Prolos people ever since! Someone else passed the Level 2 Mental Strength Talent test, but you said I didn't. You're just discriminating against us Prolos!"

As the young man from Pross spoke, he suddenly swung his fist and smashed it towards the wizard Ryan.

Wizard Ryan remained unfazed, raising his right hand and extending one finger.

The outstretched fingers blocked the fist that the young man from Pros was throwing.

This result left the Prosperians in disbelief: "How is this possible!"

Wizard Ryan's fingers were like hard steel, and they didn't change at all when hit by a fist.

Wizard Ryan looked at the young man from Pros with disgust and said, "A barbarian is a barbarian. He throws punches at people the moment things don't go his way."

Without any visible movement from the wizard Ryan, the young man from Pros took two steps back, his body covered in blisters, and his figure became bloated.

Amidst his agonizing screams, the young man from Prosper's body gradually grew cold.

Wizard Ryan said, "Throw him down."

Leo saw this from behind the group and his heart tightened.

He hadn't expected the wizard to be so ruthless, killing someone without a word.

Moreover, they were able to kill the Pros, warriors with naturally strong physical abilities, so easily.

At this moment, what arose in Leo's heart, besides his awe of wizards, was also his desire to become a wizard himself.

Clearly, the wizards of the Tower of Dawn are not merely learned bookworms, but a group of extraordinary beings who stand above others.

Testing continues.

"Level 2 mental talent?" Wizard Ryan raised his head, looked at the noble youth in brocade robes before him, and said, "Qualified."

The noble boy, beaming with joy, said, "Thank you, Wizard Ryan."

Wizard Ryan nodded slightly and said, "Next."

One person after another was taken for testing, and soon it was Leo's turn.

Leo was 2.2 meters tall with short, silver hair. When he stood in front of the wizard Ryan, Ryan frowned and said, "It's another barbarian from Pros."

"Let's start the test."

Leo could see the wizard Ryan's disgust, and his heart sank slightly.

Three beams of light flashed quickly inside the crystal ball.

Upon seeing this, Leo smiled.

"Level 3 mental aptitude..." Wizard Ryan frowned upon seeing the test result.

A level 3 mental aptitude is different from a level 2 mental aptitude, and the likelihood of becoming a wizard will be greatly increased.

However, looking at Leo's strong physique and that repulsive head of silver, tousled hair, the wizard Ryan still said, "Unqualified. Go to the small boat."

At that moment, Leo suddenly understood why the young man from Pros had attacked someone earlier.

This guy called Wizard Ryan really deserves a beating.
