Destroying My Own World

Chapter 382 High hopes.

Chapter 382 High hopes.

Aurea's body was engulfed in Sacrilege Flame and she was in extreme pain, but luckily she had lost her sanity, unbothered by it. Her body was sizzling as the flame tried to devour her skin, but her regeneration ability was unmatched even for the flame. The Sacrilege Flame wasn't as strong as Mykel's which was why she survived and endured the flame.

The dragon roared, releasing a beam of corrupted divine power right into Aurea's face. While it was trying to burn her to ashes, a sword slit its throat, a small cut was enough to make it stop releasing the beam. But the cut was immediately healed as it had amazing regeneration as well.

"We know the dragon and Ciel shared the same pain. If one of them died, the other would die as well. The question is, how are we going to kill that thing," Rozan pointed out after he observed both the dragon and Luciel.@@@@

"You won't see the tiny crack on the vase if you don't observe it from up close," Brynhilde said as she looked at Jeanne who started to lose momentum in the fight. "We don't have time for this. We need to think while fighting and see where the dragon's weaknesses are," she continued.

"Rea is struggling just by staying near the dragon. We have no chance if we decide to go over there and fight it," Sven pointed out even though he also wanted to join the fight.

"That won't be a problem," Gunnar said with confidence. "I will endure all your pain and will absorb them to myself," he pointed out.

Everyone looked at Gunnar and they knew it would kill him if he did that, but at the same time, it would be better to lose one than everyone. They took a moment to think and they all agreed to Gunnar's suggestions heavy-heartedly.

Gunnar used his ability, releasing chains from his back, spiritual chains that had no physical form. He then sent the chains to everyone's backs, connecting their souls and bodies with him. There were dozens of them, and they all hoped that he could withstand it even for half a minute.

"I'll share the pain," Enma said as she put her hand on Gunnar's shoulder. "Even if it's just for a few seconds, it's better than nothing," she added as she nodded her head at him.

Gunnar hesitated at first, but if that could make him survive, he had no reason to decline that offer.

"Before you go, there's something I want to try first," Gerrard pulled his bow and stared at the dragon trying to bite and tear Aurea who flew around it.

Everyone looked at Gerrard and then he pulled the string as far as he could. There was no arrow, but they knew what kind of arrow he was going to use, and so they looked at the dragon with anticipation.

Gerrard released the string and there was nothing, not even a gust of wind, but suddenly the dragon was brought down by a strong force. The invisible arrow that could pierce through anything, but it took a huge toll on his body making it his last resort attack.

Rozan had prepared his powerful magic, a spear as big as the mountain was falling down right on top of the dragon. Everyone had to move away as far as they could to avoid it because it wasn't just a normal spear, it was the spear that made Luciel heavily injured and made her lose the battle.

The moment the spear hit the dragon and pierced into the hole, the dragon roared since the spear scraped the core. The impact was enough to flatten the dragon to the ground, but that wasn't enough to kill it.

Luciel lost all her power for a moment, and she couldn't move a single muscle. She then saw Jeanne in front of her with a sword ready to cut her head off, but rather than cowering in fear, she smirked as if it was according to her plan.

"Don't feign ignorance on the situation you're in. Choose wisely," Luciel said weakly as she struggled to keep standing still.

Jeanne glanced at the others and saw they were trying to send a final blow to the dragon. The moment she heard Luciel's mischievous chuckle, she immediately opened her mouth to stop them, but it was already too late as the dragon had killed itself and created a massive explosion. The amount of corrupted divine power was beyond everyone's expectations and they were all exposed to it.

Luciel kept chuckling but she started coughing white blood as she collapsed to the ground. Jeanne who was so far away decided to fly away as fast as she could before she got exposed by the corrupted divine power.

She barely avoided the explosion and she had used all her power in the battle. She hit the ground hard from the sky and struggled to crawl to grab her sword. She wasn't just tired but also saddened that everyone fell to Luciel's trick and she didn't have any high hopes that they would survive that.

She took her time on the ground as she slowly recovered from the fatigue. When she sat up and turned around, she saw Mykel lifting Luciel's body and holding her in his arms. She kept watching until suddenly Luciel could stand on her own as if nothing had happened to her.

"The Mother has died," Edith's voice could be heard from behind Luciel.

Jeanne slowly turned around and she was deeply shocked by the news as she glared at Edith.

"What did you say?! Did he kill her?!" Jeanne asked.

"It wasn't him, she died because she lost all her power and used all her life force. She died of her own will," Edith explained and she looked devastated. "I was there when it happened, and she looked happy in her last moment," she pointed out.

"What's the meaning of all these?" Jeanne looked at Mykel and Luciel in the far distance.
