Destroying My Own World

Chapter 408 A promise was made.

Chapter 408 A promise was made.

Mykel walked to the back of the counter because he needed more than just a bottle of vodka. He popped another bottle and decided to stay behind the counter so he could stare at Lyneth so he could see her expression. He wanted to see if the situation that she was in was that serious and didn't add things up to get his attention.

"So you're telling me all that and came here to see me because you're trying to change the course of the past and the future?" Mykel asked after he grasped the situation Lyneth was in and the others from the future in his perspective.

"Yes, and this isn't the first time we did this. It's too complicated for anyone to understand," Lyneth nodded her head. "Even for you right now, it's too much. This matter is still far for you to face," she added and looked at Mykel.

"Tell me about everything," Mykel responded with a serious expression.

Lyneth hesitated at first because she didn't want to put an unnecessary burden on Mykel. At the same time, it might be helpful for Mykel to prepare for the inevitable encounter with Aevia and to deal with her. So, with that being said she started to explain everything about the truth of the world he was in and the true being that controlled everything.

This moment was the biggest mistake that Lyneth had made and wished that she hadn't run her mouth.

It was as she expected that Mykel felt overwhelmed by the story and how he emptied two bottles of vodka in just half an hour. He looked troubled, anxious, and terrified about the future that awaited him, but at the same time, he was glad that he knew everything.

There were so many questions that Mykel asked Lyneth and all the answers she gave him were aligned with his logic and things he would do if he was in those situations. He believed the choices his future self made were the correct and most efficient way to deal with those situations.

"The reason why you're all still alive now is because the first me sacrificed himself so the Mykel from your timeline can avenge him?" Mykel asked and his expression turned cold, making Lyneth feel pressured for some reason.

"Yes, and it wasn't because he wanted to but because he didn't want to let himself be used. He didn't want to serve the one who killed everyone he treasured," Lyneth nodded nervously and wondered why Mykel suddenly stared at her with a cold look.

Mykel put his hands on the counter and he started to feel tipsy from drinking too much. He leaned his head forward to look at Lyneth from up close and he was staring at her without saying a word, making her feel uncomfortable.

"Now tell me..." Mykel paused. "Am I the first Mykel that she created?" He asked and stared at Lyneth's eyes back and forth.

Lyneth was about to leave, but she stopped before she could leave, making Mykel look at her with curiosity. She then turned around and looked at him, frowning at him because she didn't want that kind of future for him.

"I'm not your Lyneth and that's a fact, but I don't want to see your Lyneth suffer helplessly, seeing the man she loves to suffer. The daughter that she loves the most and the most precious thing in her life to die..." Lyneth said as she wiped off the tears. "I don't want that. I don't want to see them both die, and I don't want to see you die either," she continued and stared into Mykel's eyes.

Mykel furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Lyneth as he opened the bottle.

"You always kept your promise no matter how impossible the promise was," Lyneth said as she looked down at the dirty floor. "This time, I'm going to promise you that I will prevent your future from becoming a sacrifice while at the same time preventing my future from losing to Aevia," she pointed out with a serious look.

Mykel couldn't help but smile as he drank the vodka from the bottle. He found it interesting and he never thought he would believe someone else's promise.

"I'll hold to that promise, Lyn," Mykel smiled happily as he stared at Lyneth. "I believe in you, and your Mykel also believes in you," he added.

Those words of encouragement sprouted something inside her, and the power that she found it terrifying had turned into something beautiful. She started to understand the power within her, and her [Realm Walker] power had broken the limit of its capability.

"You said that we shouldn't see each other again..." Lyneth paused as she opened the door in front of her. "But, let's meet again when everything is over," she showed her gorgeous, kind, and gentle smile at Mykelas as she stood at the door.

Mykel never skipped a beat when he encountered a beautiful woman, and he never fell for their beauty. But at that moment, he realized how lucky he was to have someone like her, and how he fell for her charm for the first time in his life.

Lyneth closed the door and disappeared while Mykel was left behind, in the dark with a bottle of vodka in his hand.

"It's a shame that her current self isn't as charming as you are yet," Mykel scoffed and drank the vodka.
